So if you guys know anything about my blog, you know that I don’t like to only talk about books. I also enjoy talking about tv shows and movies, although I admit I certainly don’t talk about them as much as I would like!
(And btw the blue titles take you to the IMDB pages for the shows!)

How do I keep track of what I’m watching?
Keeping track of the shows I watch can be quite the task when I often start a show and don’t always finish it or get up to date until months later. In order to keep track of my shows, I use an app on my phone called TV Time, with the app I can update what I’ve watched as I finish episodes. By the way, this isn’t an endorsement I just really like the app.
Using the app you can also make friends and talk to other people about what you’re watching. If you want to see what I’m watching or talk to me about shows you can follow me at allonsythornraxx.

And so, without further ado, 10 shows you should add to your to watch list!

I would love to also recommend Doctor Who but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Seasons 1-7 were amazing but then Peter Capaldi (no offence to him, he’s a great actor) came along and suddenly I’m not so keen to watch the show anymore.
However, Class is in a whole other league. Literally, it’s pretty amateur compared to DW (which is like, pro tv – it’s been on for over 50 years!) but it has an amazing and diverse cast and a really interesting plot. Each character has their own plot and we get to know them all equally. And it’s only 8 episodes so you can watch it really quickly if you’re a pro.

Status: Cancelled (2 seasons)
You guys, please do yourselves a favour and watch this show. I could say that about any of these tv shows, but honestly, Sense8 is just SOO GOOD. This is such a wonderfully throughout and thought-provoking show, it has a wonderfully diverse and isn’t afraid to talk about social issues. What I love most about the show though, is the characters. Each character is vastly different from the next and they each have their own personality, but somehow the characters can still come together and kick ass.

Hi guys, please watch this show it will change your life.
No, I’m serious. This show is so stupid, and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Andy Samberg is one of my favourite comedians so combine him with Terry Crews and Andre Braugher and I am sold. This show is hilarious, all of the characters have their moment, and while there is clearly a “main character”, the others are still very much part of the plot and we still learn about them every episode.
Also, thanks to Andre Braugher’s background in theatre we also get to watch these awesomely long monologues and it’s amazing.

Status: Ongoing (3 Seasons)
You guys, if you take anyway away from this post, I want you to watch Sense8 and Lucifer. These shows are fantastic! The show’s name isn’t a misnomer, the main character is literally Lucifer. Anyway, so why should you watch this show? Well, it’s about the king of Hell solving crime, and as far as I’m concerned that’s enough of a reason.

Status: Ongoing (3 seasons, fourth season confirmed)
This show. THIS Show. Okay, I’m calm, The Librarians, though I rarely talk about it, is one of my favourite shows ever. it is about a group of Librarians (though, not the normal kind) who go around kicking ass and taking names while also saving the human race and protecting ancient artefacts. I love them very much. It is not as diverse as it could be, but I’m pretty sure we have a bi character, and there is an Asian character with a shitty Aussie accent and I love him.
There is also a movie trilogy if you’re interested.

Status: Ongoing (9 seasons)
Yeah, I”m sorry guys. I suck, I’m recommending a 9 season long Cop show. This is who I am. I am only on the back end of season 2 (I know, you all hate me now) but eventually, I will be up to date, and probably still talking about how shocked I am that LL Cool J hosts Lip Sync Battle.

Status: Finished (6 Seasons)
I’ve recommended a whole bunch of ongoing shows so I thought it would only be fair to tell you about some of the finished tv shows you should watch. Yeah, I know you guys, I’m feeding my cop obsession with this post.
Grimm is about, well, a Grimm, well, no, actually his name is Nick and he just needs a hug. He’s going through a bit of a hard patch at the moment and he could just use a hug. Preferably from Monroe because let’s be real, #friendshipgoals
What does this show have going for it:
- Character development
- Some sketchy love interests (the writers must have been high)
- Moroe is πππ
- A wonderful friendship between two men that isn’t taken out of context, they can hug and not think it’s weird.

Status: Finished (7 seasons)
Do I even need to say anything? I love every character on this show (except Dave, he can go live in The Pit) and you will too. They’re all equally (well, I mean Ron is obviously the best, but it’s not a competition soo…) amazing. You guys know this show, and you know that you need to watch it, duh.

Status: Finished (3 seasons & a movie)
Okay, so guys if you haven’t watched Veronica Mars then you’ve got to pick up your shit stat. Veronica Mars is the coolest shit you’ll ever watch, and I can tell you that you’ll regret not watching it sooner. Oh? What’s that I hear you say? Is it another cop show? Psshhh, well, actually no, it’s not. Veronica Mars is a teenage Private Detective, duh. I don’t just recommend cop shows, guys. Though my next (and last) rec is based around another detective (whom I hope you’ve already met).

Status: Ongoing (2 seasons)
EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED. Sorry, had a massive fangirl moment there. Season 2 comes out on Oct 21 and you could say that I am slightly excited. I don’t know when I will get the chance to watch it, but you can be damn sure I will make it happen.
Anyway, so this is a show that I have just realised I cannot explain to you. Ummm, there is a psycho (but lovable?) serial killer & her nervous sidekick. We have the Rowdy 3 (A trilogy of 4 that becomes 5) and their hallucinogenic gal pal and then we have Todd, a tired Bellhop who has to race around on adventures with Dirk (the private (very private) detective), but is silently happy about it?

Do we watch any of the same shows? What are some of your favourite TV shows?
