Hey guys, today I’m coming at you with a new type of book recommendation. I didn’t feel like getting super negative today so I thought I might put a twist on the whole “Popular books I hated” type of post. Today, I’m going to try my hand at being a nice person… and I’m going to recommend books I don’t like!Β

ILLUMINAE – AMIE KAUFMAN & JAY KRISTOFF
- Really interesting storytelling technique
- Despite the size, it’s a quick read
- Everyone loves the AI??
- Will make you cry apparently?
THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END – ADAM SILVERA

- Really fun to start off with if you aren’t into comics but plan on continuing the series (not everything is explained in vol 1)
172 HOURS ON THE MOON – JOHAN HARSTAD
- The blurb says this a “terrifying thriller for young adult fans of The Martian and paranormal space adventure…” I disagree, I think this a good place to start if you’re trying to get into sci-fi or YA horror, but it’s definitely nothing like The Martian.
- It’s a translated work
- It’s a quick and interesting read if you’re looking for a bit of a scare
TO KILL A KINGDOM – ALEXANDRA CHRISTO
- This has a really brilliant premise
- If you like unlikable characters this is the one for you!

- Evil PanΒ πππ
CARRY ON – RAINBOW ROWELL
- I can’t believe I am here recommending this book. I hate Carry On and I feel no shame. But… I do understand why others do like it.
- It’s got an interesting m/m romance
- It’s heavily based on the HP series, so it’s got that nostalgia factor
- There’s a guy named Basil, and I love that
- There’s weird magic – you will love it or you will hate, there is no in between
- Draco/Harry hate-to-love romance
