10 years and 18 movies later we finally have him. Thanos is here and he’s ready to make shit hit the fan. Avengers Infinity War is the 19th ever Marvel movie and as you guys probably already know, I am quite the superhero fanatic. I love Thanos as a character so, I was cautious but optimistic and if I’m honest (and withoutΒ giving anything away) I felt like this movie was slightly ridiculous, but isn’t that what Marvel is all about?
I will say before I properly get into myΒ review if you are planning on seeing this movie you better go pee beforehand. You should bring a bottle of water andΒ be prepared. I’m not a movie snacker but, ifΒ you like toΒ snack you should bring some chips because you’ll be sitting in the cinema for a while. I was in the cinemaΒ + theΒ long-ass premiereΒ line for roughly 3 and a bit hours so I am so glad I had my water bottle with me.
I would also suggest tissues, just in case, because God knows I let my tears fall.
I don’t know. I think I will have to watch some reviews to really determine my opinion. From a comic nerd pov, I did really love this but, I honestly don’t know how everyone else will feel about it. If you love the MCU you will probably love this movie because ALL MY FAVES ARE IN THIS MOVIE I AM SO HAPPY BUT ALSO SO SCARED OML! But, if you’re just coming becauseΒ your sibling or friend is dragging you, in all honesty, you may not enjoy it.
This movie is a lot. Like, A LOT. This movie has so many characters in it and at points, I found it quite overwhelming. Without spoiling I felt like some of the characters were acting a tad out of character which was a bit weird. Also, my main problem with this movie was that it felt like I was watching 5 movies all at once. It was like reading a multi-pov book that switched to the next pov in the middle of a scene which really started to bother me by the end because I would completely forget about some character even if they had just been in the middle of an epic battle 10 minutes ago. This movie is a lot, but it’s totally worth it. It was a really fun and wonderfully acted first part of this story and I really can’t wait for Avengers 4.
That being said, I came out of the cinema, 3 hours later and I felt excited but tired. The film looked fantastic (and v shiny) but, I pretty much called it all beforehand, which is one of the only downsides to being a Marvel nerd. This movie was pretty mediocre but, if you are a Marvel fan and you really love these characters I really do think you will like this movie.
Let’s just say that it was pretty lacklustre but I am more than excited for what’s to come.
I kind of feel like MCU movies as a whole are overrated. But, as a comic and general, marvel nerd seeing 10 yrs of films come to life is what really made this movie for me. If nothing else, I think others will enjoy this movie for the laughs and the sheer ridiculous amount of superheroes in this film.
I’m 19 movies in and not quitting now.
Will I see it again though? Well, let’s put it this way, if I wasn’t already planning on taking my brothers to see it then no, I probably wouldn’t pay to see it again in the cinemas. I did enjoy it but I already got to experience it on the first day in the first session. I got to join the queues of people theorisingΒ about it in the line before we went in. I kind of don’t want to tarnish that memory?

well written, authentic (ownvioicesΒ greg berlanti), not a whole lot of flashy important scenes just a lot of conversation, witty, relatable characters
1. Each parent got to have their moment and their speech and IΒ am still crying
2.Β
^^ THIS
3. I am the Principal and the principal is me.
4. The movie definitely focuses on Simon but I really loved Leah in the movie too. I wasn’t her biggest fan in the book but in the movie, I found her incredibly relatable. It was little things like her not having the confidence to dance in public that made me really understand her character more than I ever would have from Simon’s pov.
5. I am so happy this movie exists
6. Simon went through every emotion under the sun and Nick Robinson was fantastic.
7. This movie just made me so happy. It’s a really moving rom-com and while IΒ don’t think I’ll pay full price to see it at the cinema again, I will definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD or digital. It’s going to be a great background movie for when I’m doing other stuff.
Yes, there were changes BUT I stand by them. I pretty much loved all the changes they made for the movie. I won’t go into them because this review is spoiler-free but, I did think that all the changes made sense and suited the story.
No spoilers but there are a bunch of little easter eggs in the film. Just little things like The Upside of Unrequited or More Happy Than Not on Simon’s bookshelves, or Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli’s cameo in the party scene. There are also a few other spoilery things that I noticed while watching that I won’t mention, but I will say that I absolutely loved them! As a fan of the book, they really enhanced the experience for me!
That’sΒ it for my review of Love, Simon but I’dΒ love to chat with you guys about the movie in the comment! Warning: There may be spoilers!

Let’s talk about the big discussion point for this movie: the casting list. Ohhhh boyyyy.
Okay, so I will say that I really loved the casting for the main group of kids, I think they each did a fantastic job. I also really loved Chris Pine as the dad, I thoughtΒ he was spot on casting. BUTTT, I honestly don’t know if having such a star-studded cast is going to pay off in the long haul. To be honest, I love all the actress who played the Mrs but, the actresses’ performances were pretty mediocre. Anyone could have done it on the same level and the performance would’ve been the same.
I don’t know, honestly, it isn’t a big deal and I understand that the cast will bring in lots of viewers, but it just felt unnecessary??? I don’t know, maybe I’m just weird?
A Wrinkle In Time is one of my favourite books, on the level of The Giver so you could definitely say that I was excited to see this one. Along with Love, Simon this was in my top 3 anticipated movies of 2018. I was pretty excited to go see this and make a day of it at the shops but as you can see by my rating (above), I did enjoy this but I only rated it a 3 stars. I did really enjoy it but I think the hype, amazing trailers and my love for the book got me too excited for the movie. So, I felt let down when it wasn’t 100 or even 90% perfect.
I really loved the kids who played Meg, Calvin and Charles Wallace were fantastic and really carried the movie. Who needs Oprah when you can watch Storm Reid (Meg) totally killing it on screen!
My overall feelings are that the film felt slow, which I was okay with because the book is also slow. But, that I don’t think most viewers will enjoy it because half of the movie is build up and then BAM PLOT!
I do think though, that even if the movie isn’t our cup of tea, it is impossible to watch this movie and say it didn’t look visually fantastic!

WHY SHOULD I SEE THIS FILM?
WHAT IS “THE GREATEST SHOWMAN” ABOUT?
So… The Greatest Showman… is a loosely-based story about P.T. Barnum (you can thank him for the circus). This is an original musical movie (think along the lines of Lala Land) with a stunning cast and some seriously brilliant shots (the colouring of the film was to die for).
So… who is P.T. Barnum? Dude is an ethically messed up guy but the film gives him a big smile and an elephant so it’s okay? The movie shows that there really is quite a lot wrong with the character (can I even call him a character???), in that he thrived off of him exploiting animals, marginalised groups and physically disabled people, because hey that is just how circus stated okay don’t shoot the messenger.
MY THOUGHTS
THE FAULTS
Considering they spent 7 and a bit years getting this film onto the screen, the movie felt pretty disjointed and I just felt like they really sanitised and idolised a pretty ethically screwed up man. He really made all of his money off of what made other people “freaks”, and boy, did he milk it. He doesn’t sound like the best guy but hey, we’re still rooting for him?
So, in a second I’m going to praise the music but for now, can we just admit that nothing is perfect? So… the music sounds good but some of it really didn’t feel like it fit the period. In reality, all of this was going down in the 1800s so when I started getting a pop vibe from some of the songs that sounded like stuff I would hear on the radio I was like, whatttt? Like, it has this awesome pop vibe but also an 1800s backdrop?? It was weird, but damn they sounded good so I’m not gonna complain anymore.
Okay, nobody hurt me but I wanna just say this one lowkey negative thing and then I’ll talk about the pros and leave immediately.
Okay, so maybe this movie was a tad disjointed plot-wise (dude had a crazy life) and maybe it dealt (subtly) with a lot of social issues that were never fully discussed (the cast is pretty large and most of theΒ characters have their own issues) and the movie is kind ofΒ only carried by Hugh Jackman’s commitment to the project and an amazing soundtrack.
(yep running away now)
THE GOOD STUFF
Okay, so when you watch the trailer what do you notice? The soundtrack and the cinematography.
My favourite things about this film are the soundtrack (which I am definitely buying), the FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC choreography (especially in the below gif), and how beautiful the film looks with your eyeballs. And yeah, I am listening to the soundtrack on repeat right now (it’s on YouTube) and I’m never turning it off.
My favourite songs (in no particular order): The Greatest Show, This Is Me & Rewrite The Stars
AND FINALLY, YA GIRL IS GONNA HAPPY RANT ABOUT THE CASTING
I feel like if the movie had gone on a darker, sadder route with Barnum than Hugh Jackman definitely would not have been fit for the part BUT, considering the vibe of the film it did really feel like he was fit for the film.
In other words, I loved it. Hugh Jackman’s character was definitely a bit of a dick but if you just watch it for what it is then you’ll be set to go.
ALSO, Zendaya is gonna have a fantastic career (the girl can do anything and I love it) and I feel like it’s been an age since I’ve heard Zac Efron sing and maybe I missed it I don’t know he just has a nice voice??
Okay, so fun, this movie is fun. This isΒ a really fun family movie, yeah there are significantly strong issues with the film but if you just take it at face value then you’re all good. But the main things is that i came out of that cinema amiling and I will definitely be seeing it again because damn, I loved it.
In conclusion: The Greatest Showman was the greatest film of 2017.
I KNOW THIS REVIEW FELT NEGATIVE BUT, I DO WANT YOU ALL TO SEE IT AND MAKE YOUR OWN OPINIONS BECAUSE DAMN THERE ARE ABOUT 10 DIFFERENT STORIES GOING ON AND DAMN, I AM DEFINITELY SEEING IT AGAIN.
Have you seen The Greatest Showman? What movie are you looking forward to seeing next?

THE PLOT
Plot-wise this was a really fantastic movie. It didn’t have a massive plot, because obviously we needed to get to know the characters more in this film because we haven’t met a lot of them on the Β big screen before.
I loved how while the plot with The Vulture was meaningful to Peter’s storyline and really helped non-comic readers dive into the MCU even more than in previous films. With this movie I feel like not only did we really get to know Peter and how he thinks but we also got to understand how it feels to not be a super and just live a normal life.
THE CHARACTERS
-I HATE NED, FIGHT ME.
-THE VULTURE IS AMAZING. You guys don’t actually know this about me but I am totally that comic nerd that tries to guess the villains before the film information comes out and I actually guessed The Vulture, not gonna lie guys I was super proud of myself.
-Tom Holland’s Spidey is totally my favourite. I think he’s definitely the closest to the comics and as a comic reader I really appreciate it! Also I will definitely be following Tom Holland’s career because he seems awesome (he took his dog with him on the pres tour!) and this movie totally sold me on him as an actor.
-I definitely think that Zendaya’s character, Michelle was hyped up too much for this film, I mean I totally get it, she’s Zendaya. But for the amount of press she got compared to some of the other cast members, she really wasn’t in the movie for all that long. That being said, Michelle is amazing and I cannot wait to see more of her in the next film, especially because we barely not anything about her so far.
MY THOUGHTS
-The last Spider-Man reboot was only 2012 and yet Spider-Man: Homecoming felt -completely fresh.
-I loved how they incorporated the Spider-Man theme into the start Marvel cred, it was beautiful, I won’t lie to you guys, I shed a tear.
-PEPPER POTTS IS BACK. I don’t know if you can tell but I am excited about this, more so than I ever would have though I would be. I love Pepper in the comics, Paltrow was never my first choice to play her but damn am I glad she’s back.
-Happy Friggin’ Hogan. I love this man, he’s had the ring in his pocket since 2008 and he just wants Tony to appreciate him, can this man get any softer? I love him, and I really hope he’s in the next film, again, I didn’t realise how much I missed him until he came back.
-Speaking of Tony, the guy is officially a terrible mentor but he’s sort of not a total disaster at it? I really enjoyed his parts in the movie because we really got to see how much work he puts in behind the scenes, with the later movies I feel like we haven’t really seen that in him.
Have you guys seen the movie yet? Which spidey is your favourite?
