Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! August fel t like both the longest month of my life and also the shortest so I kind of can’t believe it’s over now and that we’re going into September! In August I got stuck into Uni work and I got a new job as well as doing a few week-long reading challenges. So, it was a bit hectic, but because I’m me, I still felt like the most unproductive person on the planet πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ.

i read popular booktok books for a week | the cruel prince, it ends with us, shatter me + electric idol

Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! If you’ve been on my blog lately you’ve probably noticed me doing some of these week-long reading challenges and this is my latest one! Today I’m letting you in on my recent challenge of reading popular books that BookTok (bookish TikTok) has recommended. Some of these really surprised me, I won’t lie, I was expecting to see more new releases and was hoping for more diverse authors and characters but, so many of the books that BookTok seems to recommend seem to be written by and for white and straight audiences and also seems to focus on very popular backlist books that I feel did the rounds on Bookstagram and BookTube years ago (*coughs* the cruel prince). So, I had to do quite a bit of searching, but I tried to make a tbr that would work more for me as a reader while also working for this experiment, since I was going off of other people’s recommendations.

Also, I used a spin wheel that I found randomly on google and I put my tbr into it and basically just spun and read whatever won each round! I wanted to use this method to try and make the books I was reading more ‘fair’ and try to lessen myself reading just one ‘type’ of book throughout the week.
