MY SEPTEMBER/ OCTOBER 2019 HAUL

bookhaulfeature

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with my September & October hauls! I’ve recently finished the school term, with the next term about to start! I’ve been a bit over my head with everything in life lately and have been getting exactly zero hours of sleep but the Audible daily deals have been keeping me momentarily happy. I’ve also received a lot more books than usual from publishers so hopefully, those reviews will be coming to you soon if you haven’t already started seeing them pop up on my blog!

MY BIRTHDAY HAUL! // YA GIRL IS OLD AS ALL HECK!

bookhaulfeature

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with my birthday haul because ya girl officially turned 19 yesterday! 💃💃💃 I know I did post my big March & April haul yesterday but I was feeling a bit uncomfortable about how long it was so I decided to separate that haul from my birthday haul because two hauls are better than one, right?

MY JAN/FEB HAUL // Owned books, library books & movies!

bookhaulfeature

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog, today I’m coming at you guys with a haul! I haven’t done one of these on my blog in months since my massive 2018 Book Haul but this year I wanted to try my hand at hauls, while also including the books and movies I’m getting out from the library because I know I love reading library hauls! I’m also including the movies I’m buying because last year I bought a silly amount of dvds and I’d really like to document what I’ve been buying and when!

THE BIG BOOK HAUL OF 2018

Okay, so I know this looks bad. And, that’s because it is. 2018 was a ridiculous year for book buying, though I do want to stress that most of these books were either gifts for birthdays or Christmas or they were thrift store buys. Otherwise, I got them on sales or from deals, I think I bought maybe one book full price and that was just because I couldn’t find it cheaper at the time and I was really excited about it (hint: it was Circe)

I know that this is a big haul, and I will be the first person to admit that it’s pretty ridiculous. But, I do want to stress that a bunch of these I had already read before this year or I read throughout the year. If I unhauled any of these books that’s just because I got them from a thrift store and just put them on my mum’s bookshelf because I think she might enjoy it more than me.

MY 2018 AUDIOBOOK HAUL PART 2

Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with part 2 of my audiobook haul for 2018! I definitely slowed down with my audiobook (and physical book) buying in the second half of the year because I wasn’t reading as much – and when I was it was mostly just physical library books.

If you want to look at the audiobooks I bought from January – June this year, click here!

Remember to click on the covers to go to the audible pages!

MY LIBRARY HAUL | JULY + AUGUST 2018

Hey Guys! Today I’m coming at you with my July and August library haul! I know it’s only July now, but the books I have on hold are the ones I’ll most likely be reading in August (hopefully they arrive in time!).

You can find my May + June Library haul here!

Remember to click on the covers to go to the Goodreads page and let me know if you’ve read any of these books and what I should read first!

WHAT I CURRENTLY HAVE OUT FROM THE LIBRARY

One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns, #2)booksInto the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep, #1)booksGunslinger GirlbooksNevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1)

ONE DARK THRONE

I have actually started this one. I’m maybe 20ish pages in and so far it’s pretty much the same. Though I can tell this one is going to be a tad more fast paced and that there’s going to be some epic character development, which I’m really excited for!

I think so far I’m going to have to take the book slowly because I’m only halfway through chapter 2 and I’ve already had to put the book down because of headaches.

INTO THE DROWNING DEEP

I am so excited about this book but holy cr*p it’s so long! It’s almost 500 pages long and it’s meant to be sort of like a horror set in the ocean and honestly, that sounds fantastic. Especially, because it’s written by Seanan Mcguire (she uses her pen name for this one).

GUNSLINGER GIRL

I have no interest in westerns. at. all.

But, everyone in my Screen Analysis class is snotty and seems to be obsessed with westerns so I’m feeling peer pressured by evil people.

So, I figured I’d go with a book set in the same genre published by the same imprint responsible for Stalking Jack The Ripper (pls read it I LOVE).

If you guys know any good westerns (films, tv) that you could recommend, I’d really appreciate it!

NEVERNIGHT

I tried to listen to the audiobook for this a few years ago and because of the footnotes, it made absolutely zero sense. So, I’m really excited to read this in physical form especially since everyone seems to love it so much. If you want to be convinced to read this book just go watch a Piera Forde video.

WHAT I CURRENTLY HAVE ON *HOLD

*A hold is when you request something (book movie, cd, etc.) to be delivered to your local library so you can pick it up

Gone Rogue (Wires and Nerve, #2)booksHawkeye: Kate Bishop, Vol. 1: Anchor PointsbooksTank Girl (Tank Girl, #1)booksSpace Opera

WIRES & NERVE VOL 2

I read volume 1 of this a few months ago and really loved it so I immediately put it on hold and it still hasn’t come to my library yet! I think there’s only two graphic novels in this series but I really love the artwork (and characters, duh) so for once, I don’t think I would be sad a=about a series being a bit long.

HAWKEYE: KATE BISHOP VOL 1

I know basically nothing about this series but I know that I love Kate Bishop as a character and she’s a badass and I think I’m already in love with her???

TANK GIRL VOL 1

I love a badass lady and I love good artwork so I have high hopes for this. I really hope I love this as much as everyone else seems to!

SPACE OPERA

This book is literally Space Opera so what’s not to love? I’ve heard this is basically Eurovision in space and that thought excites me probably WAY too much.

Just read this and love it:

This year, though, humankind has discovered the enormous universe. And while they expected to discover a grand drama of diplomacy, gunships, wormholes, and stoic councils of aliens, they have instead found glitter, lipstick and electric guitars. Mankind will not get to fight for its destiny – they must sing.

Book Haul #6 – I Think I’m Finally Slowing Down (*cross fingers and toes*)

Hey guys, today I’m coming at you with ANOTHER book haul, I seriously don’t know what’s happening, they just keep appearing. Anyway, so this ones pretty short (thank god) which I’m thankful for because I am running out of shelf space.

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) Bream Gives Me Hiccups 1,227 QI Facts to Blow Your Socks Off

Crooked Kingdom // Bream Gives Me Hiccups // 1227 Facts

last month I went shoe shopping for my brother because apparently, you can’t ply sport unless your runners are completely black. Primary school has changed so much since I was there, wow I sound old now. Anywayyy, so they had a pop-up book store in the shopping centre we went to and of course we had to go. The three books above are the ones I bought.

I bought Crooked Kindom because it was like $5 and I couldn’t pass it up, even though I haven’t bought or read Six of Cros yet. But I know I will definitely read the duology this year or next so I thought it was okay to purchase it.

And then we have Jesse Eisenberg’s book, which has been on my tbr for months and I love him SO I HAD TO GET IT DUH. I also got a book of facts because I have an addiction and can’t be stopped.

Did you know: the term karaoke means “empty orchestra”?

The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue

Genteman’s Guide // Eliza & Her Monsters

The first two in this line of books were actually Owlcrate books – I forgot to include Eliza in one of my past hauls, and I received The Gentleman’s Guide in my July box and I absolutely loved it.

Book Haul #5 [I WENT ON AN LGBT BINGE?]

Hey guys today I’m coming at you with another book haul! I’ve decided to start including the arcs I receive in my hauls to spice things up a bit and so you guys can help me decide which to read next!

Lately I’ve felt really inspired to try and read more LGBT+ lit and so in an effort to pick up the slack I actually bought a bunch of queer reads. You guys will have to let me know if you have any queer recs for me in the comments!

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens AgendaQueens of GeekStalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)The King's Men (All for the Game Book 3)The Raven King (All for the Game, #2)

Simon Vs The Homo Sapien’s Agenda // Queens of Geek // A Wrinkle in Time // Stalking Jack The Ripper // The Kings’s Men & The Raven King

Way back in the beginning of last year I borrowed Simon Vs from a friend and completely fell in love with the book. For some strange reason though I never picked it up but I saw it on sale at my local Dymocks so I finally picked it up and I’m constantly telling myself not to pick it up because I have soo many other books on my shelves!

UPDATE: I gave up and read it, I regret nothing.

And then literally two days later I bought Queens of Geek, what is happening to me?? I guess I’ve just really been in the mood for some LGBT contemporary lately. Seriously, what is happening?? I guess the stores near where I live are just finally getting the memo.  Anywayyy,  so I’ve heard only good things about this I expect I’ll be picking this up soon if I haven’t already finished it by the time this post goes up!

Back at the start of July I also went on a bit of a binge (though I only bought three books) on Wordery, I bought a graphic novel and a colouring book, as well as the Puffin Classics edition of A Wrinkle in Time. I have been meaning to re-read this for years and when I saw this awesome cover I couldn’t stop myself, and now I have a new copy. Though, I am justifying the purchase because my old copy is literally falling apart.

Later on in the month I also got pretty obsessed with my Kindle and so purchased Stalking Jack The Ripper, The King’s Men & The Raven King. I’ve heard only good things about Stalking Jack The Ripper and I’m really hoping to dive into it in September after all my big exams.

I actually bought the first book (The Foxhole Court) in the All For The Game trilogy a couple of years ago but STILL haven’t read it. But I bought the second and third books in the trilogy because they were like 80c and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity like that. I now have the full trilogy so hopefully I can get to it really soon!

Juliet Takes a Breath Crazy Stupid Love They Both Die at the End Persuading Austen

Juliet Takes A Breath // Crazy Stupid Love // They Both Die At The End // Persuading Austen

I told myself at the beginning of the year I was only going to request e-arcs if they were on my most anticipated list for the year, and two of these are so I sort of succeeded. Though I have sort of slackened that rule lately as I have felt more motivated to actually read my arcs and have recently fallen back in love with my kindle.

I requested Juliet Takes A Breath because on a whim I searched it up on Netgalley and saw they had it (which I was super surprised by because I’m pretty sure it came out in 2016). So I requested it and it honestly made my day 10x better when I saw that they had accepted.

With Crazy Stupid Love and Persuading Austen it was purely a case of I know I have a rough couple of months coming up and so I know I’m going to need some books without much plot to them. I am actually looking forward to them though, and so I’m hoping to get to them soon. Especially, since the second novel has to do with Pride and Prejudice and working behind the scenes on a movie.

I also got accepted for an arc of They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera and I actually screeched when I got the email. I haven’t been able to stop smiling all day because I really didn’t think I would get the arc. I will definitely have a review up soon!

A Wrinkle In Time Graphic Novel

I have actually been meaning to re-read A Wrinkle In Time for a while now so when I heard about this over on Mollie Reads’s YouTube channel I immediately had to  buy it. So you guys already know that I bought the novel, but this copy is actually a graphic novel. I have only seen the 2003 film and I have only read the book once, so I’m hoping to get to this in anticipation of the 2018 film!

I Hate Fairyland Colouring Book

Yeah, I have no excuse for this. I love Skottie Young’s artwork, and I love colouring books so my hand slipped and it “somehow” ended up in my cart. Whoops!

Image result for adipose pop figure         Image result for daphne pop vinyl

I also bought an Adipose pop, and was gifted Daphne from Scoby-Doo. The Adipose was actually my first Doctor Who pop so I’m hoping to add to the collection soon.
