Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with my physical tbr! This is also a glimpse of my 2018 haul which I am posting in 2018. Disclaimer: I’ve either been gifted most of these or they’ve been on my tbr for a short amount of time (lol or 3-4 years and I’ll never get to them). Most of the “older” books on my shelves I’ve already read.

Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with my September tbr and I am honestly going to try my hardest to stick to it. I’ve been having trouble with making and then sticking to any tbrs I’ve made over the last 1-2 years so I figured I needed an extra push to actually stick to a list of books. So, I enlisted you guys and you pulled through (THANK YOU!). I asked you guys in this post to recommend books for me to read this month and so I’m going to go through what those books were in this post.
Psa. I also did a poll on Goodreads so I got suggestions from there too!

WHAT IF IT’S US, THE MONSTERS WE DESERVE, ESCAPING FROM HOUDINI, THE FOXHOLE COURT
Unsurprisingly this got the most on my blog and on Goodreads! I will definitely (probably, hopefully) be picking this one up this month! I have read Simon Vs by Becky Albertalli and two of Adam Silvera’s books in the past. I liked Simon and I thought Adam’s books were alright. but I don’t feel the need to pick up either of their newer releases, and not to be dramatic, but I think this will be the make or break for me with these authors.
Tasya @ The Literary Huntress (this is the best name oml who gave you the right???) recommended The Monsters We Deserve as well as Stalking Jack The Ripper. I haven’t read one of Marcus Sedgwick’s books in years but I hold him pretty highly in my mind because I like the ideas in his books. I don’t really know too much about this book other than when I read the synopsis on Netgalley I really loved it.
As I said, Tasya recommended SJTR but I’ve already read (and raved about) this one so we figured it wouldn’t be cheating for me to just read book 3 when it comes out this month. I AM SO EXCITED!
I have no idea what this about and kind of only just remembered sport is involved so whoops but I’m doing this for Malanie (@ Malanielovesfiction) because she never stops talking about this trilogy and if I don’t read it now I’ll probably never read it tbh. But, hey I’m reading three ebooks this month so at least my Kindle will definitely be getting some love this month!
If I somehow happen to finish the above four books I will hopefully pick up one of these books because they were also suggested!
GIANT DAYS, BRIDGE OF CLAY, THE RAVEN KING, THE KING’S MEN, THE DEMON KING
SIX OF CROWS, ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS, DAUGHTER OF THE BURNING CITY, A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC
CIRCE, LITTLE WOMEN, THE RED PYRAMID, THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, CINDER, 1984
Hey Guys! Today I’m coming at you with a fun but short blog post! I’ve felt less than inspired to read lately but I am starting to get out of my funk so I thought that because so many of you guys are always making so many amazing tbrs, maybe you could help me out with my September tbr!
So, I’m still not entirely sure how this post is going to go, but I know I just want to give you guys the reigns with my tbr for the month. I do have a few arcs coming up that I do need to read which I’ll show you now, but it’s really up to you guys if I read them or not!
These are the arcs you can choose from if you want to! (Click on the covers to go to the Goodreads pages!)
The Monsters We Deserve (Sept), Bridge of Clay (Oct), Giant Days (Aug), What If It’s Us (Oct)
So, you guys don’t have to pick one of those arcs but I thought I would let you know about them anyway! And the rest is up to you guys! I’ll link my Goodreads tbr here but, really it’s all up to you guys, so if you want me to read one of your faves or rant with you about your least favourite book ever, this is your chance to make that happen!
So, let me know in the comments what you think I should read in September and I’ll tally up all the votes before the end of the month and let you guys know what you’ve picked for me! I plan on reading 4 books that you guys pick but you can recommend as many books as you like!
I have a whole blog post dedicated to most of the books on my tbr if you think that would help (Link here) or you want to see a Goodreads shelf of all the physical books I own click here. I also have access to a library near me so I can hopefully get any other books you guys recommend!
Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with the top 5 most popular adult books on my tbr. I don’t usually talk about adult books on my blog but I have recently noticed quite a few of them on my tbr shelf, so I thought I would talk about them.
This and the next book on my list is one of the books I am most looking forward to reading! I have a pretty long list of books that I want to read immediately but, I am really excited to get to this one. The premise of this book sounds really really cool. From what I can remember, it’s like a deja vu version of Clue. Basically, Evelyn Hardcastle gets murdered and then I think they go through it deja vu, Charmed style and have to try and figure out who murdered her.
I am so excited about this book and I don’t know how I still haven’t picked it up. It was barely on my radar and then I stumbled upon the trailer for the new tv show (link here) and thought it looked really interesting so now I am obsessed with the idea of it. I think the whole premise sounds fantastic and now I am really excited to read it and will definitely be getting to it in the next month or two.
Okay, so technically I have started reading this before and I got roughly 250ish pages into it and hit a boring middle bit and I was also just finishing high school at the time so I put it down and just never ended up picking it back up. I still plan to start it again or keep going with it a few years down the line, because it is really good, but if I’m honest I sometimes had to force myself to pick it up and I don’t see myself reading it any time soon.
I swear, at the start of this year all I want to do was read this book but now it’s July and I still haven’t picked it up. I really wanted to try and get into Stephen King this year but so far I haven’t even finished one of his books but, I am still hoping to at least read this or Misery by the end of the year.
Of all the books on this list, I do have high hopes that I will be picking this up hopefully this month. I have a pretty big reading month planner already but I would still like to continue this series if I have the time. I can usually get the bulk of these books done within a week so hopefully, I will at least get the first hundred-ish pages read pretty soon!
Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a tbr, but because I never do these (and I’m hella lazy), I enlisted my youngest brother to pick out my tbr for me!
I did pick out books that I am excited about, just because I don’t want to stress myself out the month I start at Uni. I don’t think I will finish all of these books this month, but at the same time, I’m going to have a massively long commute to and from school every day so no pressure but kind of pressure???
I gave him a list of 3 or 4 books for each category (except for Extra) and asked him to choose, which he did. And then, I told him that for the last category (Extra), he could go up to my shelves and pick any book he wanted to read.
For this category, Alex chose from The Rook, The Final Empire, Scythe and Ark Angel (Alex Rider).
Reasoning: The Final Empire because it’s the longest
I’m actually not horrified by this. Yeah, his reason sucks but, I’ve been meaning to pick this up for a re-read for ages so I actually can’t wait to pick this up! I love this book and I love Brandon Sanderson’s writing and his word-building so I am really excited about this.
book book book book book book book
Alex chose from You, We Are The Ants, Meddling Kids & Nevermoor
Reasoning: You (serial killer, bc i can) & Meddling Kids (bc Scooby Doo)
I’m pretty okay with these choices though I don’t know how much of them I’ll get read since I will be reading them both physically and the bag I have for school isn’t overly large and I don’t know if it’s going to fit anything that isn’t a laptop or a notebook. I have been meaning to pick both of these up for ages though so I really hope I can pick these up. I am going on holiday for a few days later this week though, so maybe I’ll take these with me and save my audiobooks for the bus rides to and from Uni.
Alex chose from Giant Days, Annie On My Mind & Lost Boy, Found Boy
Reasoning: Lost Boy, Found Boy because he picked it with his toe.
For this prompt Alex chose Lost Boy, Found Boy which if you guys know me, you know I love Peter Pan, so obviously I’m excited about this one! The only thing I’m worried about is because it’s an e-arc I have to take my kindle and I know that I get really distracted when I read form my Kindle. But, on the plus side, it will fit in my bag, and it’s wayyy lighter than a physical book.
For this prompt I let him go a little nuts, he was allowed to walk into my room and come ut with any book he liked.
Alex was going to go for The Cursed Child but he went for a different kind of mean and tried to find the biggest book I own. and so he ended up grabbing A Feast For Crows.
Alex has said that I should only read this if I have the time but that I should try to get to it. I think the power has gone to his head though, because now he’s trying to dictate which posts I should write throughout the month too, haha! I tried to read this earlier this year but never got past page 62, so why not start it now!
Hey guys today I am coming at you with a new post inspired by my new urge to re-read some of the books I read almost 5 years ago that I suddenly NEED to re-read!
Do you guys re-read books or do you enjoy them and move on?
Remember to click on the cover to go to the Goodreads page!
^ What’s with all the apples, guys? ^
I have an urge, an urge to read Twilight. God knows why, but I have been slightly obsessed with the idea of reading Twilight lately, I even watched the movie, that’s how nuts I’ve been feeling lately. I’m hoping to buddy read this with Destiny and some other readers sometime in July. I have never read this with anyone else, and I haven’t read the book in years so I am excited to see what I think of it now, something like 5 years later.
I loved this series when I read it in High School, I pretty much read Cress in one day when I read it the first time so I know that I enjoyed it when I read it the first time. I also know that I thought Winter was a fantastic finale so I am interested to see if I would feel the same way now that I have finished so many other series. I loved these but I re-read Cinder sometime last year and wasn’t loving it and I really don’t like Scarlet so I think I’ll skip to Cress & Winter for my re-read.
Gone Girl is such a good book and I really loved it when I read it back in either 2014 or 2015. It’s such a mindf*ck, that I think most people dnf it out of frustration. But, I love it so please pick it up?
This is one of my absolute favourite books. I don’t know if I will still be reading it when I’m 50, because like, it’s a middle-grade book and at some point, I’m sure I will want to stop reading fantasy books written for a target audience of 10 year olds. Who knows, maybe I’m wrong? Hopefully, I’m wrong.
I love this trilogy, it is what made me realise I love high fantasy. I have been meaning to pick this trilogy back up (and continue to book 4) pretty much ever since I finished book 3 back in 2016. Sanderson creates really amazing and thought out worlds so I am planning on diving back into his books soon enough. Hopefully, I will re-read The Final Empire in either June or July because I’m pretty sure my family has a road trip planned around that time.
There were a lot of books I could’ve added to this list but I wanted to keep it positive and focus on the books that I’m pretty sure I’m going to read and not the books I highly doubt I’ll ever get to (*coughs* Six of Crows).

Originally I wasn’t going to read this purely because I really didn’t like Leah in Simon VS, but since then I have heard so many fantastic reviews of Leah on The Offbeat, so I figured why not? I love Becky Albertalli’s writing and I’m hoping reading about Leah from her own pov will help me actually properly relate to her since I won’t be reading about her from the pov of a teenage boy.
When did this book come out? 500 BC?
Yeah, guys, I don’t know why I haven’t read this yet. What do I love in books? Badass women. What is this book about? Badass women. Why haven’t I read this? Honestly, probably because high school was kicking my ass in my senior years but, also I’ve graduated now so really, what’s my excuse???
I literally saw this at the library the other day but had to use some restraint and be an adult and not pick it up because my library stack is already wayy too big. I am hoping to get to this by the end of the year but honestly who the hell knows what I’ll be doing by then. Probably procrastinating. Who’s shocked?
I am planning to read this asap (aka. this month) because I feel like I really haven’t been reading many mystery thrillers lately and I NEED TO FIX THIS GUYS! This book sounds fantastic and I am also trying to read at least one 2018 release every month (so far I have read 6!) so I am hoping this will be my new release for May!
I am so mad that I haven’t read this yet. Someone, please yell at me because yelling at myself isn’t working. I really really want to read Circe but I refuse to read Madeline Miller’s books out of publication order because that just the brand of weird that I subscribe to I guess? So, this book needs to happen asap.
Hey guys, today I am coming at you with a tbr! I rarely make these types of posts but lately, I’ve been trying to push myself to read more of the arcs on my Netgalley shelf and to read more of the books off of my physical tbr. I figured since I find it hard to motivate myself to read a specific way mid-month that I should make a small tbr and try to stick to it during the first two weeks of May and see how I go.
I picked Annie On My Mind & Crazy Stupid Love out of my jar. I haven’t had these arcs on my NG shelf for all that long but, I know they are both romances and since romance isn’t what I tend to read a lot of I have been procrastinating reading these. So, in that sense, it’s probably a good thing that these two got picked out of the jar.
I picked out Legendary & The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart out of the second jar and while Legendary is one of my most anticipated releases of the year the audiobook only comes out at the very end of May so I might not have time to read it. I also picked out The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart which I’ve heard great things about and can’t wait to get to!
For my last jar, I got my brother to pick out the two titles and he got Giant Days Vol 1 & the Thomas Cresswell Novella which is in the SJTR mass market copy. I’ve had a copy of Giant Days on my shelf for a while and my mass market paperback copy of Stalking Jack The Ripper arrived a couple of days ago so I am super excited to get to both of these!
This post is entirely Emma’s fault, she pulled me in with her charm and her lists and now I’m here making lists and being a great deal happier. I hope you don’t mind, Emma, but I did use your book categories!
So, here it is guys, my official physical tbr, as of today, Tuesday the 25th of April. I am pretty excited to finally see all of my physical tbr in list form (you guys, I LOVE lists). I am hoping that I will use this as a motivator to really knock some of these books of my tbr by the end of the year. s you’ll see, this post is quite long but that’s only because I’ve included my kindle and audiobook tbrs.
EDIT: I do plan on unhauling some of the books off of my physical tbr by the end of the year (which I have planned posts for) so I have not included them in this list, though if you’re curious as to what they are I’d be happy to tell you.
