i read the entire kingdom of the wicked trilogy in 12 hours lol i’m unhinged

Hey everyone, welcome to or welcome back to my blog! I’m in the mood for some romance today and I have the day off from work so I’ve decided to take advantage of my reading motivation! It’s 11am and since today is the only day this week that I’m not busy so I’m dedicating the entire day to reading the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy by Kerry Mainsalco. The last book in the trilogy came out in late September and I’ve been waiting for a free day to binge the trilogy and today is finally that day!

I have read book 1 before but I haven’t read the other books so I’m excited to see where this trilogy goes, especially since I don’t really remember what happens in book 1!

i read 8 2022 releases in a week | i’m glad my mom died, twisted hate, delilah green doesn’t care + more

Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming to you with a new week-long challenge post and this time I read only 2022 releases for a week! There have been some really fantastic books published this year but I still have so many books on my 2022 tbr. I know I did this back in July already but I loved it so much that I’m doing it again!

β†’ Side note: I’ve also included all of the tropes that fit into the books I read this week just in case any of them spark your interest! Let me know if this is something you’d like to see me continue to do in the future!

i read popular booktok books for a week | the cruel prince, it ends with us, shatter me + electric idol

Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! If you’ve been on my blog lately you’ve probably noticed me doing some of these week-long reading challenges and this is my latest one! Today I’m letting you in on my recent challenge of reading popular books that BookTok (bookish TikTok) has recommended. Some of these really surprised me, I won’t lie, I was expecting to see more new releases and was hoping for more diverse authors and characters but, so many of the books that BookTok seems to recommend seem to be written by and for white and straight audiences and also seems to focus on very popular backlist books that I feel did the rounds on Bookstagram and BookTube years ago (*coughs* the cruel prince). So, I had to do quite a bit of searching, but I tried to make a tbr that would work more for me as a reader while also working for this experiment, since I was going off of other people’s recommendations.

Also, I used a spin wheel that I found randomly on google and I put my tbr into it and basically just spun and read whatever won each round! I wanted to use this method to try and make the books I was reading more ‘fair’ and try to lessen myself reading just one ‘type’ of book throughout the week.

a tbr jar chose what i read for 4 days and i ended up in a reading slump πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ ~ wolfsong, a lesson in thorns, a not so meet cute, today tonight tomorrow

Hi everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! At the start of the month, I decided to do something a bit different that I never usually do since I’m a mood reader, I let a tbr jar decide what I read! This was originally meant to be a week-long challenge but I ended the week in a reading slump so you’re just seeing the first 4 days lol. I really enjoyed this experiment and I got some VERY mixed results!

Also, on my notes that I put in the jar, I also put quick explanations of what I already knew about each book along with the length of the audiobook, which is what you’re seeing next to the book covers whenever I talk about the books in this post! Some I definitely knew more about than others! πŸ˜‚

here’s what i read ↓

i read 10 2022 releases in 7 daysΒ |Β christina lauren, emily henry, nikki castle, f. t. lukens etc.

Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! I’m starting to get into doing week-long challenges here on my blog (I recently did a challenge where reading was the first thing I did in the morning) and I’m really enjoying them! This year I’ve also been falling behind on reading the new releases on my tbr, so last week I read only 2022 releases! My goal is a book a day but we’ll see how that goes πŸ˜“ lol, either way, I am really excited to hopefully read from some favourite authors this week and hopefully, find some other authors I love too (and finally read some more new releases!)

β†’ Side note: I’ve also included all of the tropes that fit into the books I read this week just in case any of them spark your interest! Let me know if this is something you’d like to see me continue to do in the future!

Here’s how it went! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

i woke up at 6ΜΆAΜΆMΜΆ 7AM every day for a week + the first thing i did was read: an experiment *fail lol*

Hi everyone. welcome or welcome back to my blog! Today I’m doing something a bit different and showing you a week in my life! Last week I did a mini-experiment with my sleep schedule and I documented it here! This is a bit new for me and my blog but I really enjoyed doing this so don’t be surprised if you see more posts like this on my blog in the future!

the rules

  • wake up anywhere between 6 and 7 (but 6am is obviously the goal) LOL
  • the first main thing I do is read – so no scrolling on my phone, but obviously letting the dog out or making breakfast is okay.

the goal

  • I don’t so much have a goal, as I would just like to see if this is something that I am capable of doing to try and change my daily schedule around to hopefully change my sleeping schedule. I’m an insomniac so I have no idea if this will work for me, but I think it’s worth a shot and, doing this for content gives me a little bit more motivation to actually get up in the morning!
  • I also think this will just be great for my general productivity every day and I’m really hoping I’ll read some great books too since I haven’t been loving everything I’ve been picking up lately.

what i expect will happen

I honestly expect that I will fail hard at this and that reading will not end up being the first thing I do when I wake up each day. But, I hope that I will be able to persuade myself to get up between 6 and 7 and maybe listen to an audiobook while I play some Animal Crossing. Is playing a video game any better than scrolling on my phone when I first wake up? No, but at least working on my island will be more productive than doom scrolling. I’m also hoping that this will at least wake me up a bit more since going on my phone seems to make me more groggy than anything else.

January Love/Hate Challenge: 2020 Releases πŸ“šπŸ’•πŸ₯±

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog and welcome to my new 2021 series! Last year I saw the two Emmas on Booktube doing this really fun Love/Hate challenge and I thought it looked like a lot of fun and like a good way to get out of my comfort zone so I mentioned it to my friend Rebecca over @ Bookishly Rebecca and she said she’d do it with me for the year!

This is a challenge where the two of us recommend 2 books and 2 movies to eachother, one that we *hated* and one that we *loved* and then by the end of the month we have to guess which one the other peron liked/disliked and review them each ourselves.

I’m really excited for this challnege because while we watch similar movies, we rarely see eye to eye on books so I’m hoping this will get us both out of our comfort zones, especially since we have a theme for each month! January was 2020 releases and honestly, I had a blast with this theme!

Make sure to check out Rebecca’s wrap up to read her thoughts on this month’s theme!
