Hey everyone, welcome to or welcome back to my blog! 2020 was an absolute mess for me, so today we’re talking 2023! I have much higher hopes for 2023. My main goal: less stress in 2023. In the new year, I’m hoping to finish and continue series that I’m already deeply invested in and keep going with monthly goals that I care deeply about and my last goal which is just to try and (hopefully) balance my life a bit better week to week in 2023.
in 2023 i want to…
01 finish the Discworld series
I am currently 6 books into this 41 series and I’m determined to finish it asap because i love it so so much
here are the first 6 books in the series that I’ve read already read (2023)

02 continue the sherlock holmes series
I started reading this series (60 books!!) in 2021 and then completely neglected it in 2022 so I’m really hoping to read at least a few stories from this series throughout the new year.
I’ve read these two so far (2021)

03 engage with my book club every month
I’ve been running my book club since late 2021 and i honestly love it but I can sometimes forget to engage with everyone more often than I should so I’m making it a goal so obviously, it’s going to happen, right?
you can join my book club on discord here – we read a romance a month and we’re also running a monthly riordanverse readalong (we’re currently reading The Titan’s Curse!) (you don’t have to read book books every month to be a part of our community, don’t worry!)

04 read 100 books in 2023
Over the last couple of years, I’ve managed to read over 100 books a year but since 2020 I’ve found myself more regularly getting into more and more reading slumps every few months so while, I’m not planning on slowing my reading down, I am lowering my reading goal to hopefully, allow my mind to let myself slow down a bit more throughout the year which will hopefully lead to less stress reading-wise.
05 make either reading, blogging, work or uni a priority each week
In 2022 I had a hard time fitting everything into my schedule each week so in 2023 I’m aiming to have one set priority each week. I have uni assessment due this week? Then I’m not going to stress about reading and I will take on less shifts at work etc. etc.
Have you read any of our Hoemances before?

I really like your last goal! I think it makes so much sense to focus your effort on just one aspect of your life at a time, rather than trying to give your all in too many directions at once! I might have to implement a similar goal for myself to make sure that I’m not overwhelming myself in any given week!

Thank you! In past years I’ve made a big deal about numbers but in 2023 I would like to be a bit more realistic so that was the best goal I could think of. I want to try and just put myself in one mindset each week and honestly, I think that’s the best way to go instead of pulling myself int oo many directions at once. I have my fingers crossed it goes well and I hope you enjoy your 2023 Malka!
