Hey everyone, welcome to or welcome back to my blog! I’m in the mood for some romance today and I have the day off from work so I’ve decided to take advantage of my reading motivation! It’s 11am and since today is the only day this week that I’m not busy so I’m dedicating the entire day to reading the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy by Kerry Mainsalco. The last book in the trilogy came out in late September and I’ve been waiting for a free day to binge the trilogy and today is finally that day!
I have read book 1 before but I haven’t read the other books so I’m excited to see where this trilogy goes, especially since I don’t really remember what happens in book 1!
Kingdom of The Wicked (book 1) // βββ.5
I’m not gonna lie, this book is making me so hungry! I just made a little plate of olives and cheese (lemon & garlic sicilian olives, balsamic & rosemary kalamata olives & Camambert cheese for anyone curious).
I wasn’t completely in love with this book the first time I read it but I remember still finding it such an easy and bingeable read that I intended on finishing the series. But, I’m definitely enjoying this reread more and I have higher hopes for the trilogy as a whole! I’m really loving the dynamic between Wrath and Emilia so I’m really excited to see how their relationship develops throughout the trilogy!
I’ve just finished reading this one and it was honestly so much fun! I started listening to book 2 immediately and I’m super curious to see how Emilia changes since I feel like she went through a bit of character change towards the end of book 1!
Kingdom of The Cursed (book 2) // βββ.5
It’s now 3pm and it’s time to read book 2!
Can confirm: Wrath is my favourite character in this series so far!
Not a whole lot actually happened for like, 90% of this book except for romance development but I was having a great time so I really don’t care rn. I’m also happy to say that I predicted the plot twists and reveals, but I did really enjoy this book and I’m so happy that I decided to binge the trilogy because I cannot wait to read book 3 immediately. This is honestly making me want to pick up more fantasy romances asap!
Kingdom of The Feared (book 3) // βββ
Thank you to Hachette Australia for seing me a review copy!
I didn’t even wait a full minute before starting book 3! ππ₯°
Just a heads up for anyone who’s not a fan of open door scenes, there is smut in this book!
Oh my god I just got a text from my boss and now I’m working tomorrow which means I have to finish this book tonight π no pressure. This has just gone from a 24 hour challenge to a 12 hour challenge yikes π π π
I’m really loving seeing how this feels a bit more grown up (NA) than the Stalking Jack The Ripper series (YA). Reading this trilogy has made me really hope that we see Kerri Maniscalco write an adult book/series in the future, I’m convinced I’d eat it up!
It’s 2 minutes to Midnight but I managed to finish the finale on time! I definitely think book 2 was my favourite but I really enjoyed this one too. Where in book 2 basically nothing happened, in this one it sort of felt the same but also so much happened. I’ll be honest, I was listening to the audiobook while going about my day and getting ready for bed, so I think a bit went over my head towards the end but, I did still have a grea ttime reading this and guessing all of the twists so I absolutely can’t wait to read whatever Kerri Maniscalco writes next!
I really think that if you’re a fan of Neon Gods or the A Court of Thorns and Roses series you would love this trilogy!
