Hey everyone welcome or welcome back to my blog. It’s Wednesday so it’s time for a mid-week check in with what I’ve been reading lately! I won’t lie at the moment, I’m a bit lost with what I’m reading but I’m currently reading the Briar U series by Elle Kennedy which is keeping me vaguely occupied. I just wish I could figure out what I wanted to read so then I could find a whole bunch of whatever it is!!

Yesterday I reread The Chase, book one in the Briar U series and I really enjoyed it, so I’m continuing on the reread train and starting book 2! I’m not in love with Elle Kennedy’s books but they are certainly interesting enough and definitely quick reads! Sadly, I’ve never rated any of her books higher than a 3 stars.

What can I say about this that hasn’t already been said? All of the fluffy moments were fantastic and immediately put a smile on my face. But, those smiles were surprisingly rare because Elle Kennedy obviously felt compelled to add needless drama into each story which is definitely not so fun to read about. I just wish this had been a fluffy one shot for each couple so we could see where they were at a few years down the line, instead of baby and marital troubles. This just felt like a cash grab which as a reader, just makes me feel grubby.

I read The Play when it came out a few years ago and honestly didn’t love it so I took a break from Elle Kennedy and NA in general, but I think if I don’t finish the series now I honestly might never get around to it.
