Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! Can you believe we’re a whole month into 2022? I can’t believe it tbh, it feel like we’re 6 months in on my end. I kind of feel like I didn’t read a single thing this month but I was going through my Goodreads challenge and I somehow read 25 whole books, and most of them weren’t small either! I got majorly hooked on Matthew Reilly’s books this month and couldn’t resist binging them! I also tried to vary my current reads a bit outside of all the action reads, so there are some middle grade reads and a bunch of books all in other genres which I’m really happy with! I’m also really hoping we’ll see this from me in February too!
Goodreads Challenge Update!
I am 9 books ahead of schedule!

- Mythos [01/01] π§π- ββββ – I won’t retain half of this information but oh boy, this was a great time. I’m so glad Stephen Fry narrated the audiobook too!
- Every Heart A Doorway [04/01] ππ§π – βββ.75 – My favourite re-read so far!
- Down Among The Sticks and Bones [04/01] ππ§π – βββ.5 – Gosh, I was so uninterested in this story this timea round. I wonder if that’s because I re-read it every year or if I was just not in the mood.
- Red Rising [04 – 06/01] π§ – ββ.5 – Yeah this ain’t it chief
- The House in The Cerulean Sea [08/01] π§ππ – ββββ.5 – So heartwarming and cozy while also dealing with some really complex topics!
- Under The Whispering Door [09/01] π§π – βββ – A somewhat interesting idea with some very loveable characters but, ultimately underwhelming in every way.
- Keeper of The Lost Cities [10/01] π§ – βββ.5 – Not mind-blowing but I had a really good time and I plan on continuing the series later this month!

- The One Impossible Labyrinth [14/01] π§ – βββ – I cannot believe this series is over. REVIEW
- Henry Hoey Hobson [15/01] βββ – It’s baffling how much more enjoyable a book can be when you actually know where the locations are in the story.
- The Pisces [23/01] π§ – βββ.5 – Very well written but might be too weird and because of that the message gets lost.
- Australia Day [25/01] π§ – βββββ – Such a good book, I recomemnd this to all Australians, but I also think it would have an impact for readers from different locations to!

- Encanto [08/01] π – βββββ – Animated perfection.
- West Side Story [17/01] βββ – This could have been good but Ansel Elgort is too fuckin creepy and it’s distracting
- Encanto [24/01] π – βββββ – It’s official. This is one of my comfort movies now.
- National Treasure [27/01] π – ββββ – Considering that it’s an absolute classic, National Treasure is never talked about enough.

Thank you, I had a good month!
Yes, I started reading Matthew Reilly’s books in 2021 and just got truly obsessed in January! I’m honestly so glad I decided to give his books ago because I absolutely love them!! I highly recommend them, I think One Impossibly Labyrinth was the best of all his recent books in that series! A great way to finish out the series!

25 books! Ellyn! Were you attached to your headphones all month??? But seriously kudos. It’s so easy to get hooked on Matthew Reilly, I have been there. I’ve also been eyeing Kim Jiyoung for a while so it’s so nice to see that loved it. I hope February is as great (and full of graphics!)

You very much disliking Red Rising but not hating The Pisces hurts my reader feels haha nah, just kidding. Your feelings for the books are absolutely valid, I just really like the Red Rising saga and wanted to dump the Pisces book into the ocean (or nearest body of water).

I KNOW! It’s absolutely wild and makes no sense πI’m so glad you enjoyed the Red Rising Saga and I still can’t quite figure out why it didn’t work for me, though I can see why so many others love it! Haha, honestly The Pisces was wild and I really wonder how it was traditionally published but hey, I’ll never pretend to understand the publishing industry π€·ββοΈ

I love how you’ve formatted your wrap-up. I’m always panicky when I read a ton of books in a month because I fear how messy my wrap-up would look like. Haha! But yours is so easy to absorb.
Anyway, I am happy to find another Encanto fan. It’s my new Disney fave too! Have a great month ahead! π

Thank you, I’m never sure how to format my wrap-ups so they don’t seem so daunting to read, so thank you so much because your comment has made me feel a lot more confident! I feel your pain, the more books you read the harder your wrap up is to format! π
It’s my new favourite Disney movie at the moment and it became an immediate comfort movie for me!
Thank you, I hope you have a fantastic month!
