✨ Graphicsathon round 5 announcement! ✨ | my tbr + recommendations πŸ’•

Hi everyone. welcome or welcome back to my blog if you’re new! I’ve been co-hosting the Graphicsathon for a few years now with some of my blogging friends and it’s finally that time of year again! We’re back for round 5 and this round we’re switching things up! Last year we ended the year with a cramathon weekend where we tried to read whatever was left on our tbr for the year. And to kick off 2022 and keep ourselves accountable we’re reading a graphic every day of February, 28 in total!

Our main goal for the readathon is to read a graphic every day but we recognise that everyone’s day looks different and that 28 is a big number so we’re still counting it as a big win if everyone reads every day, even if it’s just a page of your current graphic! We still want this to be a laid back readathon, this is just a fun challenge so don’t pressure yourselves to read 28 if that isn’t an attainable goal for you! It can be 28 graphics read in 28 days or you could modify the goal to reading for 28 days (not necessarily finishing 28 things. It’s up to you and I can’t wait to see all your tbrs and wrap ups! πŸ’•

So, what counts as a graphic?

Anything with images! Comics, graphics novels, manga, picture books. If it uses pictures/images as a main storytelling device, it counts!

  • Find Graphicsathon on Twitter
  • You can find my β€˜Graphics’ shelf on Goodreads here for extra recs
  • Dates: February 1st – 28th (your time, starts 12:00 AM and ends 11:59 PM)
  • Hosts: Becca and Me!

prompts?

No other specific prompts for this round, but our goal is to read 28 graphics in 28 days so you can obviously count that as a prompt/challenge if you like!
But if you are a prompt/goal-oriented person we do have a bingo board and a spin wheel of past challenges!

The top 3 squares: 2021 release, a 5 star prediction, a different format

The middle 3 squares: continue a series, free space, backlist title

The bottom 3 squares: a character who identitifies differently than you do, yellow on the cover, a graphic from your tbr

what’s on my tbr?

Feel free to use this first graphic to show us your tbr or to keep track of your progress throughout February!

I’ve included my tbr as an example to keep track of it all too and hopefully, I’ll have a full one at the end of the month too. I’ve tried to include different graphic types as well as different genres and character types to try and fit past prompts. Most of these I also have ebook copies of either on my Kindle app or on Lbby which will be super helpful for me since I know I’ll be reading most of these before work in the mornings. I can’t wait to see what’s on all of your tbrs!

reading sprints!

We’re also going to be running some reading sprints throughout the month and we’ve included the times and dates above. I’ll be leaving this here in my bog post announcement but I will also post the times on Twitter!

Will you join the readathon?

    1. A different format means that you read it in a different way to your usual. For example, if you usually read graphics physically you might try an ebook or audiobook! Or even, if you usually read graphics you own, you might try a library copy.

      I hope this helps!
