2021 reading wrap up | favourites, least favourites, reading stats ✨📈📚

Happy new year and welcome back to my blog! I can’t believe it’s finally 2022 and I’m really hoping this new year will be kinder to us all because I really think 2021 had a vendetta against us. This post is going to be a little long but it’s not a crazy read, I’m going through a couple of pie charts of some of my reading stats and then I’ve got all the books I read this year and that’s pretty much it. 2021 was an absolutely wild reading year for me and I read more than I’ve ever read in a single year before so I’m both excited and apprehensive about 2022 and what it will bring.

General Stats

Number of books: 275
Pages read: 75, 632

I read the most in January by a long shot, I think. I also think this makes a lot of sense since I would’ve been on holiday for most of that month and because I was trying to read a book a day. I mostly read romances and short SFF books which I tend to be able to read quite quickly, often reading multiple in a day. It’s amazing the things you can do when you don’t have to go to work and you’re not in the mood to watch tv!

I definitely went through reading phases every couple of months so looking at this chart it actually makes a lot more sense to me now why I went through so many reading slumps in the year, and always after binge-reading a lot of books in one month.

I think of all the charts in this post, this one is the most interesting to me. I knew that I’d read a lot of graphic novels and manga this year and that I started the year out with a lot of novels but I had no idea that books under 250 pages had so easily eclipsed my usual average page number of 300 (-/+). This is also laughable compared to the meagre 3 books I read that had over 700 pages (especially since I read one of those twice 🙈)

Charts!

  1. Wow, I kept scrolling and scrolling and the list of books you’ve read just kept going haha I did spot some I’ve read in the past in between though, like Annihilation, Persuasion, The Wicker King, … good stuff!

    1. Haha, I know! I went overboard in 2021 but I’m working on slowing down my reading this year and hopefully reading some bigger books!
I really did read some favourites though, I loved all of those three! ❤️

  2. Looks like a great reading year for the most part. I hit 110 books but for the longest time it wasn’t looking that I was even going to hit a 100. But then November came around and so happy I got my reading mojo a bit back.
