DECEMBER 2021 WRAP UP | I almost exclusively read manga and it was amazing. [40 📚 in 31 days]

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. It’s officially 2022 now so it’s finally time to post my December 2021 wrap up! This month I actually barely read any novels but I did get hooked on reading manga which ended up being over half of my wrap up and ended up getting much higher ratings! 2021 was a bit too wild for my taste but in December I got to slow down a bit finally and I definitely think that shows in my wrap up, especially since I actually watched movies this month too, something I haven’t had time for all year!

• One Piece Vol 2 [04/08] ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – This series is so easy to read!
• One Piece Vol 3 [06/08] ⭐⭐⭐ – Loved the ending!
• Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku Vol 1 [06/08] – ⭐⭐ – Nice artwork but everything else needs to go asap.
• Perfect World Vol 7 [07/08] 📚 – ⭐⭐⭐ – The ending has me really excited! I can’t wait to get vol 8 out from the library and read it asap!
• Spy x Family Vol 4 [07/08] ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – 100% THE CUTEST DOGGIE OF ALL TIME. THE ULTIMATE GOOD BOY.

• Spy x Family Vol 7 [08/12] ✨ – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – A filler volume but still so so good!

• Cheer Up: Love and Pompoms [09/12] ✨🌈 – ⭐⭐⭐⭐- This was adorable and I loved the recipes at the end!

• Well Matched [10-13/12] ✨🎧 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – So so good and in my opinion, a really good representation of anxiety. A lot of the time it was like reading my own inner monologue.

• The Hating Game [11-14/12] 🎧🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – The most chaotic relationship I’ve ever read and honestly I think the movie did it better.
• Giant Days Vol 2 [15/12] 🔁🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – Very cute. I can’t wait to re-read vol 3!
• Sweat and Soap Vol 11 [15/12] ✨ – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 – Not what I was hoping for the finale tbh. But, I did still enjoy this and I will absolutely be re-reading this series in the future!
• Perfect World Vol 8 [18/12] ✨🟣📚 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 -The love triangle (square??) drama bs is officially over! Finally!
• Perfect World Vol 9 [18/12] ✨🟣 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – I’ve finally figured out what it is about this series that doesn’t mesh with me. There’s fantastic disability discussion but the romance is so unbelievable. There’s no chemistry!
• Sweet Talk [19/12] 🎧✨ – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – So cute! Now I need to go back and listen to book 1!
• All I Want for Christmas [19/12] 🎧✨ – ⭐️⭐️.25 – There is nothing cute about forcing Xmas cheer on someone.

• The Set Up [19/12] 🎧✨ – ⭐️⭐️ – This could’ve been great but instead I was just bored for 40 mins.
• Blue Flag Vol 1 [20/12] 🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 – This was so so cute, l absolutely recommend it!
• A Study in Charlotte [20/12] 🔁🎧 – ⭐⭐⭐.75 – At the end of every year I inevitably get re-obssessed with two things:Star Wars and Sherlock Holmes. But, I don’t want to watch either of those, I just want to think about them and look at memes. So, since there aren’t enough Holmes memes for my liking I’m trying to quench my Sherlock craving by re-reading this boarding school YA mystery!
• Blue Flag Vol 2 [21/12] 🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – I really love these characters so I can’t wait to binge read this series!
• Knot My Type [21/12] ✨🟣 – ⭐️⭐️.5 – true to it’s name, this was NOT my type.
• The Blackwood Brothers [21/12] 🎧 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – I honestly thought I ’d hate this but I wanted something short yo listen to and to my surprise I actually didn’t mind it.
• I Cannot Reach You Vol 1 [22/12] ✨🌈 – ⭐⭐⭐.5 – I really enjoyed this one and Ive already pre-ordered vols 3 & 4!

• I Cannot Reach You Vol 2 [22/12] ✨🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – Very cute, I can’t wait for vol 3!
• Stormbreaker [28/12] 🎧🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Admittedly not the best book but I really do love Alex Rider as a character!
• Point Blanc [28/12] 🎧🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – I love this book because nostalgia has me in a vice grip but yeah, the show definitely did it better.
• Skeleton Key [28 – 29/12] 🎧🔁 – ⭐⭐⭐.25 – One of my favourites in the series but this is pretty much where the series turns from middle grade to YA and ges a bit darker which I love.
• Eagle Strike [29/12] 🎧🔁 – ⭐⭐⭐.5 – There has been a villain monologue in EVERY book in this series so far god damn.

• Vemon: Let There Be Carnage [05/12] 🌈✨ – ⭐⭐⭐ – Andy Serkis was not joking when he called this a romance.
• Spider-Man [11/12] 🔁 – ⭐⭐⭐.5 – What do you do when you have two assignment to do and no motivation to do them? Yo prepare for the new Spider-Man movie by watching all of the previous ones.
• Spider-Man 2 [11/12] 🔁 – ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – A masterpiece tbh
• The Hating Game [11/12] ✨ – ⭐⭐⭐ – A rocky start but overall I really enjoyed this and I know I’ll be rewatching it again in the future!
• Spider-Man 3 [13/12] 🔁 – ⭐️ – I have no words.
• The Amazing Spider-Man [16/12] 🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – I have a lot of words but mostly I’m just teary eyed seeing Andrew in the Spidey suit.
• Spider-Man: No Way Home [18/12] ✨ – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – Oh boy, I truly was not prepared for what an emotional rollercoaster this movie was going to be. I absolutely loved it and simultaneously never want to watch it again.Oh, the curse of the Marvel movie.

• The Matrix [25/12] 🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – One of the best mvoei movies ever made and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
• How The Grinch Stole Christmas [25/12] 🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Arguabley a good film but emotionally traumatising.
• Mamma Mia! [25/08] 🔁🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A perfect film. No flaws (except for Pierce Brosnan’s singing obviously).
• Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again [25/12] 🔁🌈 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Not a perfect flaws. Too shiny and perfect. No one stumbled and somehow the singing was worse. The only thing that saved this flop was Cher and Andy Garcia singing Fernando together at the end.
• Being The Ricardos [26/12] ✨ – ⭐️⭐️ – Yeah, look Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem had some really good moments in this but damn, this was so fuking boring.
• Cinderella [26/12] ✨🔁 – ⭐️⭐️.5 – My mum really wanted to watch this so we watched it and I died a little bit more inside.
• Love Actually [26/12] 🔁 – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 – It’s just so British that I can (mostly, sort of) forgive how badly so much of it has aged.

• The Holiday [26/12] 🔁 -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Genuinely this movie brings me an unimaginable amount of cozy joy.
• Alex Rider Season 1 [26 – 27/12] – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – An honest to god genuinely brilliant adaptation of the books and I absolutely cannot wait to watch season 2! I really appreciate how they’ve aged Alex up a bit and I’m really impressed with how they’ve managed to adapt and better one of my favourite book series from my childhood. I highly recommend this, for fans of the books but also for fans of spy shows with smart characters who aren’t heartless!
• Alex Rider Season 2 [27 – 28/12] ✨ -⭐⭐⭐.25 – Not as good as season one, in my opinion but that’s because I’m a nostalgic sucker for the point blan storyline. This was definitely a step up from s1 though and I really love how they’re jsut picking and choosing which book suits the tone and characters on the show and then using that to really explore all the details from the book & then adding new details to make it flow more coherently for an older audience. THis show is really well done on all accounts and I can’t wait for season 3!
• Encanto [30/12] ✨ -⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – Not me already crying in the first 10 mins. This was abslutey amazing and I’m so glad I gave it a chance!
• The Addams Family [30/12] ⭐⭐⭐ – I genuinaely thought I’d watched this before but apparenty I’ve only ever watched the second one 🤔
• Addams Family Values [30/12] 🔁 -⭐⭐⭐⭐ – 10/10 i love thes weirdos
• Encanto [31/12] ✨🔁 -⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 – This had to be the last movie I watched in 2021, it was fantastic!
