Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! I’ve been really enjoying doing these mini style reviews for 2021 releases throughout the blog so this is my latest instalment in that series! I’ve been getting more and more into new releases this month so I’m hoping you’ll see a few more of these posts sooner than later on my blog! Grab a snack because today I’m reviewing This is Not The Jess Show by Anna Carey, Project Hail MAry by Andy Weir and Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert!

⭐⭐⭐
This wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read and I think I was hoping it would be a bit more than it was, but overall, really all I was looking for was a story I would enjoy more than The Truman Show and that’s what I got. This was fun and really dived into how f*cked up the whole fake reality concept is, which I loved. I won’t re-read it in the future BUT I do highly recommend it!

Yes it is 10 past 3 in the morning and yes I did only just finish reading this a minute ago but once I started reading this I had a very difficult time stopping. This was a lot of fun and MUCH better than Artemis! I still think The Martian is Weir’s best novel to date, but this was a fantastic runner up that I will 100% be re-reading in the future!

“It sounds like your dream broke, and you’ve been picking up shattered pieces and blaming yourself when your hands bleed.”
I just want all authors to know that there’s nothing wrong with a long slow burn romance because I would’ve easily read 800 pages of this and LAPPED IT UP. Eve Brown was by far my favourite book in this trilogy and I know I’ll be re-reading this sooner rather than later!

I have similar feelings about This Is Not The Jess Show, I think the idea behind it is super unique and I love it, I adore The Truman Show and it reminded of that movie, but I do think it needed more depth and more explanations as such, you know? Anyway it’s been a pretty entertaining read for me.😊
Have an amazing weekend ❤️

Yes, I love the whole idea behind it and how there’s so much to dive into! I wasn’t a big fan of The Truman Show but I loved the idea! I think if The Jess Show had been adult it could’ve gone deeper into the issues of the reality show, instead of having the romance sub-plot, but I still enjoyed the book!
Thank you, you too! ❤❤
