I do this tag every year and I’ve loved going through the books I’ve read so far this year, it’s been a lot of fun!

q1 best book you’ve read so far this year

• Before The Coffee Gets Cold, Annihilation, Spy x Family Vol 1

I’ve somehow only read eleven 5 ⭐ reads so far this year but out of those 11, these three have been my favourites that I think about the most often! I especially loved the Spy x Family series, I’ve only read the fist three volumes but I’ve 5 starred them all!

q2 best sequel you’ve read so far this year

• I Hear The Sunspor Vol 2, Act Your Age, Eve Brown, Spy x Family Vol 2, Before The Coffee Gets Cold: Tales From The Cafe

I really haven’t read many sequels this year so it was a bit difficult for me to remember which onces I’d actually read

q3 a new release you haven’t read so far this year

• Project Hail Mary

I just got this out from the library last week and I am so excited to finally read this! I’ve heard this really holds up to The Martian which I loved so I really hope that I love this just as much!

q4 your most anticipated book for the 2nd half of the year

• This is Not The Jess Show, In The Quick, How To Mars, Darling, The Heart Principle, All The Bodies, Along The Saltwise Sea

I have too many books that I’m anticipating that I either haven’t read or that haven’t come out yet and these are some of the ones I’m most looking forward to reading! I’m especially hyped for Darling (which just came out) and All These Bodies which isn’t out yet!

q5 your biggest disappointment of the year so far

• The Way of The Househusband Vol 1-4

I really enjoyed the first volume but the series quickly went downhill after that!

q6 your biggest surprise of the year so far

• Annihilation

I randomly picked this up at the start of the year when I was on a novella binge. I didn’t think I was even going to pick this up but the cover looked really cool and I’d heard it was really weird and it ended up being my first 5 ⭐ read of the year and is probably going to be my biggest surprise read of the whole year!

q7 your favourite author of the year so far

• Yuki Fumino & Tutsuya Endo

These have been my absolute favourite manga series that I’ve read so far this year to the point that they’re now in my top 3 favourite mangas of all time and I can’t stop recommending them!

q8 a fictional crush

I don’t think I’ve ever answered this question in this tag, or any other tag. I don’t get fictional crushes, sorry!

q9 your newest favourite character

• Act You Age, Eve Brown

Jacob Wayne from Act Your Age, Eve Brown just because I really related to him and enjoyed all of his scenes!

q10 a book that made you cry this year

No books have made me cry, but Before The Coffee Gets Cold, came close!

q11 a book that made you happy

• Spy x Family Vol 1, Heartstopper Vol 1, Check, Please Vol 1

I’ve read a lot of books that made me so happy this year but, these three have been my favourites lately!

q12 your favourite book to movie adaptation of the year so far

I haven’t seen any book to movie adaptations yet this year… does anyone have any recommendations?

q13 the most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year

• How To Mars

Okay, so technically this arrived on my doorstep this morning so technically I got it in July but I’m counting it! I love books about/around space so I can’t wait to dive into this one!
