Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! It’s Wednesday so I think we all know what that means… it’s time for another reading update! I’ve actually been reading really consistently this past week and I’ve been *finally* really enjoying what I’ve been reading so I decided to really talk more about the books I’ve been reading lately rather than just giving a short summary of my thoughts! I hope this reading mood continues and I hope you enjoy this week’s update!

The Viscount Who Loved Me | π§π

I was originally going to wait until the end of the year when season 2 of Bridgerton comes out to re-read this one BUT I was hit with a sudden need to re-read book 3 in the series which forced me to then re-read book 4 and then I just said fuck it and now I’m re-reading book 2. I’m sure by this time next week I’ll also be re-reading some of the others in the series. The men in this series can be really unappealing at times but honestly the heroines (except for Daphne because book 1 was a m e s s) are amazing that I can ignore the men most of the time! Anthony is one of my favourites of the Bridgerton siblings and I absolutely adore how he’s met his match in Kate! I think this is one of the stories I’m most excited to see on screen!

Originally I was just going to talk about book 4 because it’s what I’ve read msot recently but honestly I love both of these books equally so I’m going to talk about both! I LOVE this book! Benedict can be irritating at times but it’s one of the only Cinderella retellings that 1. I’ve actually enjoyed and 2. Is actually believable and well-constructed! I adore Sophie as a character and I also really enjoyed the addition of Posy who I personally cannot wait to see on-screen! Honestly, I can’t wait to see this entire story on-screen, it’s going to be amazing!

I did lower my rating for this slightly for this re-read but it’s definitely still one of my favourites in the series and I wouldn’t be suprised if I read it again next year and then again when season 4 of the show comes out! I LOVE Penelope as a character and how she interacts with other characters like Lady Danforth! Also, fun fact, this is one of the only times I’ve ever enjoyed a friends to lovers story, my only complaint is just that I wished there’d been more time between Colin and Penelope realising their feelings and then getting together, that bit felt rushed. Other than that, this was adorable – but Colin has grabby hands anger issues which was uncomfortable to read.

I’ve sadly had to put it on hold. I think it’s great, but for some reason I can’t seem to connect to the characters
