Hi All, welcome back to my blog! It’s Tag Monday and today I’m shaking it up with an original tag! I haven’t done one of these in a while and I have a few others in the works but recently I’ve been really wanting to talk about new releases, but couldn’t think how to without writing a review so I looked up new releases book tags but couldn’t fine any. So I decided to just make one myself!

Unfortunately I’ve hardly read any 2021 releases this year so I really don’t have many books to talk about, but so far I’ve read five completely different releases all by authors I haven’t read from before. I’m hoping to keep up that trend and hopefully introduce myself to a bunch of new-to-me authors throughout the year!

Act Your Age, Eve Brown (The Brown Sisters, #3)

This list could honestly go on forever because there are so many fantastic books that have already come out this year that I haven’t read, but I’ll just mention some of the highest on my tbr! I’m super excited for all of the above books but I’m DYING to read Mrs Death Misses Death and Dial A For Aunties!

↠ a new release you just found out about

I feel like at the start of the year I made a pretty comprehensive list of releases I was interested in but of course there were a few that slipped through the cracks! I recently preordered the audiobook for The Taking of Jake Livingston and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for The Book of Magic at the bookstore!

↠ a new release you’re excited about from one of your favourite authors

Heartstopper: Volume Four (Heartstopper #4)

I couldn’t choose just one book from just one author… whoops I’m failing at my own tag! 😂 In all honesty, Darling is probably my most anticipated book of 2021 BUT The Heart Priniciple is a close second! I also can’t wait to read Sabrina vol 2 and Heartsopper vol 4 so I’m sure they’ll both make an appearance in my Graphicsathon tbr in June!

↠ a new release you’re excited about from a new-to-you author

I feel like so many amazing books are being talk about, especially on Twitter this year so I’m finding about about some amazing debut authors but there are also some authors like A. S. King that I’m hoping to finally read my first book from and Switch really does sound so interesting!

↠ a new release you have no interest in

I wanted to keep this tag as positive as possible to get people excited about all the new books coming out this year, but let’s be honest there are always a few books that we just aren’t interested in and these are some of mine. I don’t think I’ll ever pick these up, especially the last two.

↠ a new release you want to pick up soon

I have Mrs Death Misses Death on hold at the library and I’m pretty sure I’m buddy reading the others. I absolutely can’t wait to get to all of these as soon as possible!

↠ a new release that hasn’t come out yet but you can’t wait to read!

↠ a new release with an amazing cover

Classic me I couldn’t resist showing off 21 covers instead of just one… I mean, just look at them all! My favourites are Lost in The Never Woods, Arsenic and Adobo, Darling and In The Watchful City!

↠ your favourite new release you’ve read so far this year

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon! This came out in late January but I only just got to it last week, but it was so much fun. I loved the main couple and the main plot, it was such a fun idea and I genuinely loved Shay and Domnic’s scenes together! I think this would make a fantastic movie and already can’t wait to see what the author writes next!
