WWW Wednesday 05.05.2021 | focusing on 2021 releases + nearing my goodreads goal!

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming to you with a reading update and shockingly I’ve actually read something in the last week! I’m finally catching up on 2021 releases and getting out of my reading funk! My latest ead was really disappointing but I’m really excited for everything I’m going to read next so I don’t mind so much. What 2021 releases have you read this year? / Which ones are on your tbr?

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you can find my other WWW Wednesday posts and find my progress here.

I’m not gonna lie, I started this a few weeks ago and obviously I’m loving it because it’s K Ancrum and they have amazing writing BUT I was using this book as part of a mini experiment to see if I could try and habitualise reading every night… this lasted for maybe 3 nights. So, because I so rarely read physically without an audiobook, this got put wayy on the backburner but I saw that it was on sale on Libro.fm (here’s my code lol) so now I’m 100% going to listen to this and I’ll probably have it finished by the end of the week tbh.

1.5 ⭐

I…I don’t actually know what to say right now. I was really excited to read this one, particularly since I’ve never read any of Peter Swanson’s books before but have heard good reviews so to say this book came as a bit of a shock to me is an understatement. I just felt the whole time that the author didn’t actually understand how scary men can be to and against women but he used it as a plot point anyway. A distinctly un-thrilling thriller, a bad plot with a conclusion that makes zero sense and a total waste of time.
