WWW Wednesday // 24.03.2021

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with an update for how my reading has been going for the last week, and what I’ll be reading over the next couple of weeks!

I think I’ve said this for the last few WWW updates but, reading has been going pretty slowly this month! I definitely think I read too much in January and February so now that I’m reading at such a dramatically slower pace my brain doesn’t totally know how to handle it. I’ve been too busy to read lately, but this week I’ve been in a determined reading mood and I’m finally starting to read more… though considering I’ve yet to read anything above 2.5 ⭐ I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I enjoy my reads for the rest of the month! 🤞🤞

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you can find my other WWW Wednesday posts and find my progress here.

My Goodreads Review | My StoryGraph Review

I’ve seen this in a lot of reading wrap ups lately and April from Aprilius Maximus made it sound really good so I looked it up on Scribd and found they had the audio. I seem to have a really rocky relationship with Talia Hibbert’s books so far so I was really hoping I would love this, especially because I love the cover for this one. But, so far I’m not in love with this, though I am enjoying it more than the TH book I read earlier this month.

The Big Sleep (Philip Marlowe, #1)

My Goodreads Review | My StoryGraph Review

Yeah… it’s a no from me folks. I love a good noir story but I just couldn’t get past the writing of the characters and how awful and misogynistic the main character is, it was so distracting and there’s (shockingly) just something about a man comparing a woman to an animal that really pisses me off.

American Psycho

In a lecture for uni one of my professors recently recommended that we read American Psycho and since I have the time to read at the moment when I’m on the bus to and from school or work I should be able to pick this up. I have no idea what this is about (a murderer I’m guessing??) and I haven’t seen the movie either so I really hope I end up enjoying it!

What are you currently reading?
Are we reading any of the same books?

    1. YUP I 100% understand! I am STILL reading it and I can’t get more than a few pages through it at a time because it’s so brutal! I’m honestly considering DNFing it at this point…
Thank you for your heads up!
