WWW Wednesday // 17.03.2021 | March: The month of 2 star reads!

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with an update for how my reading has been going for the last week, and what I’ll be reading over the next couple of weeks!

Okay, so I’m offficially in week 2 of uni and somehow I’m on track so far! Not a whole lot has changed from my last WWW post, but I can say I’ve 100% slowed down my reading pace and how much I’m reading – I’m also giving you a big heads up that my wrap up this month is going to be really short since I’ve only actually finished 3 books this month and they’ve all been 2 ⭐ reads or lower!

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you can find my other WWW Wednesday posts and find my progress here.

That Way Madness Lies: 15 of Shakespeare's Most Notable Works Reimagined

That Way Madness Lies: 15 of Shakespeare’s Most Notable Works Reimagined | 🎧

I literally started this yesterday, the moment I got the preorder confirmation email from Audible while I was on the bus home from Uni. I’ve only listened to the frst story so far so I can’t really review much of the book so far, but I am really excited to see what I think of this book overall since I do enjoy Shakespeare’s works but usually DNF or avoid anthologies. Fingets crossed I finish this one and actually enjoy it too! 🤞🤞

My Goodreads Review | My StoryGraph Review

Okay, so this was one of the first books I had to read for uni this trimester (I’m currently in week 2 lol) and the way my uni prof described it, it sounded really interesting but oh boyyy, it did not live up to the premise! This was completely underwhelming and boring. I feel like Klara could’ve tackled some really interesting themes, social and environmental issues but instead it just vaguely mentioned them or touched on them slightly which would’ve been okay if we at least had an engrossing plot or interesting characters but we got none of the above. I’m honestly really disppointed that this was my introduction to Ishiguro’s work.

  1. When I was in college I rarely read anything heavy because of all the other reading I was doing for classes. Sorry you’ve had bad luck with your reads this month–maybe the next book will be different. That’s what we all hope after reading a two-star book, anyway.

    1. I can understand that, it’s so unfortunate that I don’t have more time for heavier books!
I’ve had a bit more luck since March which is such a relief!
