Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog and welcome to the newest addition to my library updates series! I did a few of these last year and really enjoyed talking about the books on my immediate tbr, so I figured why not carry that rhgouth into 2021?
I have 14… Yes, 14 books on this list so grab a drink and a snack! I pretty much always have 5+ books on my holds list at all times because I’m notorious for putting books with long wait times on my holds list (this isn’t even talking about my Libby holds which I’d be happy to do a post about!) because I find that I tend to put a lot of new releases on my holds list in advance for my next month’s tbr! This systems works for me because I find that having the books physically in my room always reminds me to read them and gives me structure for my reading month! (especially since I typically read exclusively via audiobooks so i can often get lost down the rabbit hole but, having the books in my line of vision really helps me stay “on track”.)

when no one is watching – pending – 1st in line – I’m super hoping to get to this by the end of the month if it comes in on time! π€π€
make up break up – in transit – 1st in line – I don’t remember what this is about at all but, it’s only 2021 anticipatedd releases list for a reason!
house of leaves – in transit – 1st in line – 100% on my march tbr, this will probably be the only physical read in march (if I actually get to it)
in the dream house: a memoir – pending – 1st in line – i think I had this on a tbr last year but never got around to it, so march is going to be the month where i finally tackle this beast!
famous in a small town – pending – 1st in line – I’ve only read 2 books by Emma Mills in the past but I rated them both either 4 or 4.5 so clearly I’m a fan of Emma Mills but for some reason I never pick up her books without prompting so I’m really excited about this!

a pho love story – pending – 2nd in line – this was on my feb tbr but i never got around to it, so maybe my hold will come out in march but the audiobook comes out on the 1st of april so we’ll see when I actually get around to reading this
the big sleep – pending – 2nd in line – only reading this because it’s on my school syallbus. i feel like this title is a joke on my insomaniac ass and I don’t appreciate it.
shatter me – pending – 4th in line – i suddenly had the urge last night to read this book but the audiobook is really hard o listen to because in the actual novel there are a lot of lines crossed out, which is obviously really difficult to understand in the audiobook (there are weird noises to tell you when a sentence is crossed out and I’m not a fan.) so this will probably on my april tbr
the priory of the orange tree – pending – 5th in line – I feel like I got 200-ish pages into this when I tried to read it in 2019 but had to take it back to the library so I never finished it. I have had the urge to read this lately though, so you’ll see this on a tbr soon!
much ado about you – pending – 6th in line – it turns out this has literally nothing to do with shakespeare wth

the secret history – pending – 10th in line – okay so it’s currently cold and wet in my state so I’m in a massive dark academia mood. But, I’m not very good at researching dark academia stories that I think I’d actually enjoy, so I figured I’d start with some of the more peopular books in the genre and then eventually I’ll be able to do a big recommendations post! (if you have any dark ac recommendations I’d really appreciate it!)
a court of silver flames – pending – 13th in line – originally i was like, 43rd in line so I might actually be able to get to this soon!
Act Your Age, Eve Brown – pending – 18th in line – i haven’t actually read the first two books yet so I’m giving myself the motivation/reason to finally pick them up! I’ve also heard this book does a really good job of showing how different autism is in men and women so I’m really intrigued to see that comparison, also just straight up I’m a sucker for romance so I’m super excited to finally get to this trilogy!
Before the coffee gets cold – pending – 29th in line – i recently saw one of my favourite booktubers Dana recently talked about this in a recently read video and she ot me so intrigued! Dana discribed this as a cozy short novel about different people in a cafe, but also there’s time travel, like really specific time travel. It’s crazy you can only time travel when you sit in this chick’s chair but you can only do it once but she has to actually get up first and you only have until your coffee gets cold. This sounds super weird and I didn’t describe it well but it really just sounds like a good book to drink on a rainy day so I’m for sure going to be picking it up as soon as my hold gets in!
What’s on your tbr?
Are we excited about any of the same books?

Such a damn good list! And I spy Literally Dead picks π I gave up on my When No One is Watching hold and listened to the audio on Scribd. Because I was like number 30 in line haha. I am REALLY hoping I get my House if Leaves hold though because that book is so expensive!

Thank you! Yes, I’m really hoping I can keep up with the book club this year even though thrillers and horror aren’t my typical go-to genre!
Haha yeah, my hold still hasn’t come in either so I think I’m going to have to just listen to the Scribd audio!
I’m so excited for House of Leaves, it’s going to be such an interesting reading experience! Wanna buddy read it if our holds come in early enough?
