Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with an update for how my reading has been going for the last week, and what I’ll be reading over the next weeks!
I’m currently doing 28 in 28 for February and so far it’s going pretty okay for me! So far I’m on track for reading a book a day but I think if I’m not careful I’m going to get into a reading slump. I’ve got my fingers crossed I read some great books this week!

When a Scot Ties the Knot (Castles Ever After #3) | 🎧🔁
My Goodreads Review | My StoryGraph Review
I’m really not big on the whole gruff scot does what he wants and has no manners trope that seems to be a thing whenever there’s a scottish love interest. I thought the beginning was really interesting and such a cool idea and as always I love having a spinster kind of main character.
For context, this book starts out with the MC, Madeline being pressured into finding a husband and going out into society, but Madeline has pretty severe social anxiety so she has to find a way to avoid having to go out and talk to people. So, her solution to this problem is to create a fake man who she is attached to but he had to go to fight in the war 😢. So she writes letters to him and sends them thinking that no one will read them and then keeps up this ridiculous ruse for like, a decade??? To the point where one of her family members leaves her a castle in Scotland to have when the dude gets back and what do you know, one day he actually does because it turns out these fake letters she’s been sending have actually been going to someone. After The Funeral (Poirot #31) | 🎧
My Goodreads Review | My StoryGraph Review
The most recent book I read was After The Funeral by Agatha Christie. I’m slowly reading this series out of order and honestly not loving it. I think that Agatha Christie deserves all the props for her ideas and consisntently writing same-level mysteries that translate really well to screen but are also a good read.
I feel like I’m addicted to reading these books because they’re so short and the characters are always so interesting but I’ve yet to find a Poirot mystery that lived up to the hype.

Trainspotting | 🎧
I have never seen this movie but I recently saw Jack Edwards talking about this in a video and I was really intrigued by the way he was discussing the book so I pretty much immediately added it to my tbr and searched for it on Libby. My copy just came off hold so I think this will definitely be my next read!

so far it is good, but I’m only on 100/750 haha! But the magic is very intriguing so far!

Poirot was definitely my least favourite in Agatha Christie books and I generally avoid them these days. Good luck with 28 in 28 and happy reading!

Yeah, I have a few more Poirots on my Libby tbr that I’ll read but I think I’m going to try some different Agatha Christies because Poirot just isn’t working for me.
Thank you! 💕
