My 2021 Reading and Blogging Spread Sheets! // šŸ’•šŸ“ššŸ’• Walking you through my Notion pages

Okay, so originally I wasn’t going to make this post because I didn’t intend to make a big spreadsheet for the year but then I remembered how much easier life is at the end of the year when you have all your stats ready for you and in one place.

So, where do I have my spread sheets and my stats? Well, I didn’t make some tables because I know The Storygraph will calculate them for me along with the graphs, but for other things like genre specifics (which I prefer to o myself) and blog statistics I’ve got those on Notion so they’re easly accessible to me on either my computer or my phone.

You can also find my 2019 Spreadsheet here.

READING – Monthly

You can find my Reading Spreadsheet on Notion here!

  • The Number of Books I Read in 2021 – with a monthly breakdown and a page count breakdown too.
  • Monthly breakdown of ratings ranging from 1 to 5 with 0.25 incriments. I know I can also have these easy stats on The Storygraph but I wanted to have most of my stats here in one place.
  • A monthly breakdown of the grenres I read. This is also available on The Storygraph but I found that some genres I didn’t want to keep up with like, sci-fi and straight historical make the graphs too big and clumpy and harder to read, so I made my own. I’ve also found that sites like Storygraph and Goodreads don’t differentiate between genre and age range so I’ve split the two.

Reading – Yearly

  • Big Books – every year I like to look at the “bigger books” I read but can barely remember which ones were longer and Goodreads only tells you the longest you read over the whole year. I also wanted a list that I could update through the year of books over 500 pages. I like having a reason to update my spreads, but I also appreciate the extra motivation that comes from being able to add to lists like these, it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something.

Also, just a heads up I haven’t read all of these books yet, most of these are just books I know I’ll read throughout the year as they’re buddy reads or already on my tbr!

  • Similarly, I wanted to have an updated list of the novellas (under 200 pages) that I read throughout 2021.
  • This is one of the smaller and more niche lists on my sheet but, I do tend to go through random phases throughout the year (particularly around Dec/Jan) with classics so I thought it would be interesting to properly document which ones I read as well as whether they were re-reads (aka. am I reading anything new or relying on old favourites and an “easier” reading experience), how long the books are, and when I read each book.
  • Last of all is my Graphicsathon list so I can list all of the books I read for my readathon!

Year in Review – Reading & Screen

  • My 2021 Reads spread detailing everything that I read throughout the year.

The categories: Title, Author/s, Page number, Date read, Star Rating, Personal Tags, Representation, Trigger Warnings, Tropes, Quotes, 2021 Release checkbox

  1. I love having my excel sheet, mainly because it shows nice stats at the end of the year haha!
Good luck tracking all of these!
