Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with an update for how my reading has been going for the last week, and what I’ll be reading over the next weeks!

The Bone Season , The Assassin’s Blade, North and South

All of my current reads are books I’ve been reading on off for quite a qhile but started this month. I have my fingers crossed that I can finish them all before the end of the month.

• I’m only a few chapters into The Bone Season and totally confused but I can already tell I’m going to really enjoy this series so I’m really hoping that one day I can just chuck the audiobook on and read a big chunk of this so I can finally start to understand what’s going on and hopefully movie onto book 2!
• I’m also part of a buddy reading club for the Throne of Glass series this year and we’re starting with The Assassin’s Blade so naturally I listened to the first one and then put off reading anymore because I wasn’t into it. I do think that’s down to me not knowing the characters well enough yet though.
• Lastly, we have North and South which I genuinely thought would be my 2nd read of 2021 and now we’re in the last week of the month and I’m only 25% of the way through.

A Darker Shade of Magic 🎧

I just recently read this one (as in I finished it like, 10 minutes ago) and honestly, I thought this was going to be a 4 star read because I love a darker fantasy set in a world with intricate rules like this one. But, towards the end (60-70%-ish) I started to lose interest so I’m really hoping that I’ll get back into this world with the next book. Also, I know everyone and their grandmother loves Lila but honestly, I’m not loving her, so hopefully we get some backstory or character development!
