WWW WEDNESDAY [09.12.2020] // Vacation and Big Books!

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! Today I’m coming at you with an update for how my reading has been going for the last week, and what I’ll be reading over the next weeks!

A Little Life

I’m currently reading this absolute beast and honestly I don’t totally know what to think of it yet. But, the writing is fantastic and I’m really enjoying the characterisation too. This book is horrifically harrowing and very overhwleming and basically has triggers for every horrible thing you can think of, so know that if you’re goin gto also pick it up. That being said, as heavy as it is, it’s also really easy to read. I started it on Tuesday and I’m already on part 3 (213 pages in/out of 720) and am hoping to finish it in the next few days.

I recently took this with me to work, intending on reading a few pages in my lunch break, but it was so good that I ended up reading it before I finished work that day! (For reference, I was working with a kid who spent most of the day listening to music or sleeping, so I was able to read while I wasn’t actively teaching.) I loved volume 1 so I was expecting that to be the peak for the series but this ended up being a 5 star read and I can’t wait to pick up volume 3!

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue

I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about this book because I know it’s goin gto be slow and very character-focused, so either I’ll love it and it’ll be a new 4 star read for me, or I’ll hate it and never recommend it to anyone… Who knows! I am very excited to get to it though, considering I was intending on reading it a month ago, but didn’t have the chance because of work!
