WWW WEDNESDAY 19.08.2020 | Reading New Favourites & Struggling With Others… πŸ₯°πŸ˜±

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! As you all might now if you’ve been following me closely this year, 2020 has been a really weird year for me. I’ve been either reading like crazy or almost not at all and I developed some crazy Insomnia, so 2020 has been A LOT.

So, the last few months for me have been pretty slow in terms of reading but so far August hase been a really good month for me! I’ve read some new favourites this month so far, and I can ony hope that continues, so hopefully you’ll see a few postitive WWWs in the future!

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you can find my other WWW Wednesday posts and find my progress here.

My Dark Vanessa

My Dark Vanessa – Kate Elizabeth Russell

So technically, I’m only 2 chapters into this one but I have started it so I think that’s still an accomplishment! I’ve been meaning to start this ever since it came out but have been putting it off. Honestly, I really really want to keep reading but it’s such a difficult read for me so I think I’m going to take it slowly and read it a chapter at a time and hopefully I’l have it finished in the next month or two!

I’d be really curious to hear anyone else’s thoughts on this one and how you felt while reading it because I’m honestly struggling with it!

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

The Poppy War – R F Kuang

I just finished The Poppy War this morning and oh boy, let me tell you, it was a wild ride! It’s told in three parts and I think part 1 was definitely my favourite because it had the school setting and there was a big focus on learning the world and getting to know how the main character reacts to different situations, but I also really enjoyed part 3 and now I can’t wait to read book 2 so I’m ready for when the final book comes out later this year!

Citizen: An American Lyric
You Had Me at Hola
The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War, #2)

Citizen: An American Lyric – Claudia Rankine + You Had Me At Hola – Alexis Daria + The Dragon Republic – R. F. Kuang

I have no idea when I’m going to pick these up because I know I have a lot of assessments coming up but these are the books I’m most excited to get to next. I know nothing about any of them, but that’s nothing new with me.

What are you currently reading?
Have you read any of these books?

    1. It was so so good! It can pretty graphic at times so if you have any triggers you would definitely check out a TW list but other than that it’s absolutely fantastic and written really well!
