JUNE WRAP UP | I’m in a reading slump…

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog!

This month has been a whole-ass wild ride, I can’t believe I’ve officially been socially distancing and staying home (not working, not going on campus for Uni) for 3 and a half months. Absolutely wild! The last couple of months have been very reading heavy for me but this month I really started to slow down. I’ve been having a lot of trouble in general, with sleeping and blogging but I start my next trimester of uni at the start of next month (online, of course) so hopefully, my schedule will start to get more in control and back on track!

So, yeah, I didn’t read a whole lot compared to previous months, but I’m still happy with the actual content I consumed, and I managed to watch a lot of movies and tv shows! This month I had plans to watch all of the marvel movies but I ended up really not being in the mood for the MCU, and instead I ended up getting SUPER invested in Batman instead so be prepared for a lot of Batman in the movies section of my wrap up! 😂🦇

• The Sea of Monsters [01/06] – 🌻🎧🔁 – 3 ⭐ – I can see why this isn’t everyone’s favourite in the series but I had a total blast reading it!
• Scarlet [02 – 03/06] – 🌻🎧🔁 – 3 ⭐ – I’m so happy to be back in this world, these characters and this world are like a comfort to me now!
• White Fragility [04/06] – 🎧 – 4 ⭐ – Informative but there are better resources by black authors that we should be reading.
• The Titan’s Curse [05/06] – 🌻🎧🔁 – 3 ⭐ – Not my favourite in the series but I still really enjoyed it!
• Cress [06 – 08/06] – 🌻🎧🔁 – 3 ⭐ – I didn’t love this as much as I have in the past but I did still really enjoy it!
• Beach Read [14 – 22/06] – 🌻🎧 – 3.5 ⭐ – Buddy read with Destiny – Unputdownable! A great romance but beware, this book isn’t all fun and games, it’s also an intense exploration of grief, fmaily and love!
• The Glass House [11 – 12/06] – 🌻🎧 – 3 ⭐ – Buddy Read with Malka – I love how Emily St John Mandel writes stories and integrates her characters into eachother’s lives but something felt like it was missing from this one.

• Batman: The Movie [01/06] – 3 ⭐ – This was completely ridiculous but I had a lot of fun watching it!
• Iron Man [01/06] – 3 ⭐ – I didn’t love this the way I have in the past, but I can still appreciate it.
• The Incredible Hulk [02/06] – 3 ⭐ – This movie has it’s flaws but it’s still one of my favourites!
• Iron Man 2 [07/06] – 2.5 ⭐ – Sam Rockwell is the only reason to watch this movie and that’s a fact.
• Thor [07/06] – 3 ⭐ – I really wasn’t feeling this one this time around. No idea why tbh.
• Captain America The First Avenger [07/06] – 3.5 ⭐ – I actually really enjoyed this movie, so that’s a nice change.
• Avenger Assemble [07/06] – 3 ⭐ – I think this might be the first time I’ve truly enjoyed this movie.

• Batman [10/06] – 4 ⭐ – This really is one of the best Batman movies out there, so please go watch it if you haven’t already!
• Batman Returns [10/06] – 1 ⭐ – I would be genuinely happy if I never have to see this movie ever again.
• Batman Forever [11/06] – 3 ⭐ – Yeah, so that happened.
• Artemis Fowl [12/06] – 1.5 ⭐ – I am genuinely upset by this movie.
• Scoob! [date/06] – 3 ⭐ – Look, this movie had it’s problems and the story was a bit uncoordianted but, I did get a real kick out of seeing some of the older Hanna Barbera characters!
• The Nanny Season 1 [13 – 14/06] – 4 ⭐ – I don’t typically watch tv shows but, I had the sudden urge to re-watch this and honestly, I’m loving it!
• A Silent Voice [date/06] – 3.5 ⭐ – I think I prefer reading the manga but I still think this story is incredibly important!

• The Nanny Season 2 [14 – 16/06] – 4 ⭐ – My compliments to the chef!
• The Nanny Season 3 [16 – 18/06] – 3.5 ⭐ – I think the show is starting to lose itself but I’m still enjoying it.
• The Nanny Season 4 [18 – 19/06] – 3 ⭐ – I wish we saw more of the kids in this show but I accept that it’s hard to do that with 20 minute episodes.
• Emma BBC Mini-Series [19 – 20/06] – 4 ⭐ – The best Emma adaptation I’ve ever seen. I highly reommend!
• The Nanny Season 5 [19 – 21/06] – 3 ⭐ – Definitely not as good as the earlier seasons but, I’m still here so it can’t be that bad.
• 365 DNI [21/06] – 1 ⭐ – The love interest in this movie makes Christian Grey seem like a normal, well-adjusted guy.
• Batman & Robin [24/06] – 1.5 ⭐ – Objectively awful and wayy too long but honestly, I think Clooney is better Batman than Kilmer.

• Ocean’s Eleven [25/06] – 3.5 ⭐ – I thought I would love this more than I did. I liked it and would watch it again but there was something missing to make me love it.
• Ocean’s Twelve [25/06] – 3 ⭐ – Good but not as good as the first movie!
• Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief [27/06] – 1.5 ⭐ – I watched this for a blog post and I regret everything.
• The Nanny Season 6 [21 – 27/06] – 3 ⭐ – Definitely the “worst” season but I still enjoyed it! I’ve offically finished watching The Nanny!
• Batman Begins [28/06] – 4 ⭐ – I can’t believe I’ve never seen this before. I get the feeling I’m going to love Bale’s Batman!
• The Dark Knight [28/06] – 5 ⭐ – The actual cinematic embodiment of the 100 emoji.
• The Dark Knight Rises [29/06] – 3 ⭐ – This movie was honestly not great but at the same time I’m over here crying in the club bc of the batman. Honestly, this might be my favourite version of Bruce Wayne/ Batman. I only accept angst in relation to Batman and that’s a fact.

• Looney Tunes: Back in Action [30/06] – 3.5 ⭐ – This movie has my 2 favourite things: Brendan Fraser and Daffy Duck so yeah, of course I love it.

• Westworld Season 1 1×01 – 1×03 [16 – 10/06] – This show is so good what the heck??? mY only complaint is that there hasn’t been enough James Marsden so far!
• Stargirl Season 1 1×01 – 1×06 [17 – 16/06] – Not loving this so far but I’ll contninue an dmaybe see out the first seaosn.
• Doom Patrol 1×01 – 1×05 [23 – 27/06] This is deifnitely not my kind of thing but again, I’ll see out the first season. At this point the only thing keeping me even somewhat interested is Matt Bomer.
