MARCH WRAP UP | What a stressful month! So much Keanu Reeves!

Hi all, welcome back to my blog! March is finally over! I’ve got a post coming tomorrow talking about how my reading went for the month, so look out for that! It was quite a month because I was fully back into my Uni schedule which meant I suddenly had 3-4 hours of pure reading time on the bus at the start of every week! (for the start of the month, at least) So, I’ve been getting a lot of audiobook listening done, which has been really helpful for me!

In February I read 28 books but, this month I managed to read 11which seems like a lot less but considering this month was such a mess, I’m really proud of myself, especially since I enjoyed so much of what I read! Honestly, so far this year I’m really kicking my reading goal out of the water and I’ve never read this fast in just a few months! I already can’t wait to look back on my reading later in the year to see how my reading goes!

• Artemis Fowl and The Eternity Code [04/03] – 3.75 ⭐ – *chef kiss* Beautiful!
• Captain Marvel Vol 2 [05/03] – 3 ⭐ – Better than volume 1 but still not reaching it’s potential.
• The Mysteries of Udolpho [01 – 08/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – Alright, but never needed to be 900 pages.
• Northanger Abbey [09 – 10/03] – 3 ⭐ – Even 12 year old me knew this wasn’t good.
• Beyond The High Mist [15/03] – 2.5 ⭐ – What on Earth did I just read?
• Lady Audley’s Secret [15 – 17/03] – 3.75 ⭐ – If you don’t think that Robert was in love with George then I don’t trust you.
• In Bed With A Highlander [16 – 18/03] – 1 ⭐ – This isn’t the worst thing I’ve read but it was definitely not good and makes me less enthusiastic about reading more books like this, especially since it was published relatively recently!

• Artemis Fowl and The Time Paradox [17 – 22/03] – 3.75 ⭐ – This took me a million years to read but I still loved it!  I’ve yet to read an Artemis Fowl book that I didn’t like!
• LEPrecon [22 – 23/03] – 3 ⭐ – This was such a fun throwback to earlier in the series!
• The Turn of The Screw and The Aspern Pages [23 – 25/03] – 1 ⭐ – There was literally no point to this and oh my god, it was tedious!
• Persuasion [27/03] – 4.5 ⭐ – Buddy Read with Destiny – This book is so so good, possibly better than P&P!

•  Set It Up [02/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – I’d hear this was terrible so I’d steered clear but this was actually so much fun and the main couple are so wholesome and the love interest is actually a good person??? Why aren’t there more rom coms like this?
• From Up On Poppy Hill [06/03] – 3 ⭐ – I’ve been hitting a wall with Ghibli lately, but I loved this!
• Emma [07/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – This was actually really good, like, I would actually watch this again. Here’s my review
• Chalet Girl [08/03] – 2 ⭐ – I don’t understand why this movie exists to be quite honest with you.
• Poldark Season 3 [10 – 12/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – Ross Poldark can choke, but Drake Carne can get it.
• Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory [13/03] – 3 ⭐ – I can’t explain it. but as an adult, I hate this movie.
• Justice League [13/03] – 2 ⭐

 

• Tangled [13/03] – 3 ⭐ – This is a fun but ultimately meh movie, I wish I loved it more.
• Dora And The Lost City of Gold [13/03] – 1.5 ⭐ – Better than I thought it would be, but still not good. Would watch a sequel though.
• My Neighbor Totoro [14/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – What hasn’t been said about this movie? It’s fun, family-friendly and has huge cuddly animals. Why wouldn’t I love this movie?
• Lava [14/03] – 4 ⭐ – The song makes me so happy until I actually think about the lyrics and then suddenly I’m crying. I love emotions.
• Aladdin [14/03] – 4⭐ – This is a good movie and y’all need to accept that.
• For The Birds [14/03] – 3 ⭐ – I love animated shorts. Shit like this makes my day.
• The Favourite [14/03] – 4 ⭐ – Absolutely amazing. Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz are complicated girlfriends. Please watch it.

• Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears [15/03] – 4⭐ – If you love Miss Fisher this is a must-see, honestly just go watch the show while you’re all stuck at home because these characters are amazing and work off each other so well!
• Superman 3 [17/03] – 3 ⭐ – I’ve always avoided this movie because in my memory this is awful, but actually this movie is a lot of fun!
• Frozen 2 [19/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – So pretty on the surface but the background of this movie can be total shit sometimes and I just wish Anna got better songs!
• Cinderella [19/03] – 4 ⭐ – I can’t explain what it is about this movie that I love so much, but damn this is good!
• The Goonies [20/03] – 4 ⭐ – I forgot how good this movie is, it was so much fun to watch!
• Teen Titans Go! To The Movies [22/03] – 2 ⭐ – Nicholas Cage voiced Superman and that was the only good thing about this movie.
• Poldark Season 4 [18 – 23/03] – 4.5 ⭐ – I think this has probably been my favourite season yet! So so good!

  

• Speed [24/03] – 5 ⭐ – I never thought the day would come but I might have finally found a movie that usurps The Mummy as my favourite movie of all time. Holy shit.
• Poldark Season 5 [23 – 25/03] – 4 ⭐ – Ngl, I’ve become really attache to this show over the last couple of months so saying goodbye to these characters was actually really sad for me. I definitely recommend giving this show a try!
• The Lake House [25/03] – 4 ⭐ – Yo, what the fuck. I already want to rewatch this.
• John Wick [26/03] – 4 ⭐ – I can’t believe how many absolute bangers Keanu Reeves has on his resume. Totally makes up for all the shit ones he made.
• Something’s Gotta Give [26/03] – 3 ⭐ – She should’ve ended up with hot doctor Keanu Reeves instead of sleazy old man Jack Nicholson and that’s the truth.
• The Lake House [26/03] – 4 ⭐ – I ended up talking about Keanu Reeves with Destiny and she mentioned she hadn’t seen this in a while so I conned her into buddy-watching it with me! We had a great time, I love rewatching time travel movies because there’s always something extra to get out of them!
• Much Ado About Nothing [26/03] – 3 ⭐ – Apparently I only watch Keanu movies now. I’ll be honest, even he couldn’t save this awful adaptation.

• Destination Wedding [27/03] – 1.5 ⭐ – The Keanu movies continue! I didn’t love this but I did like Keanu’s line delivery, so there’s that. This is the romance pessimists have been waiting for + a transphobic and panphobic joke. So, yeah, it’s a bit funny but it definitely steps over the line at points!
• Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone [27/03] – 4 ⭐ – I buddy-watched this with Destiny and it was so much fun!!
• The Best of Me [27/03] – 3 ⭐ – I’m not gonna lie, I watched this with my dog and we both fell asleep before it was finished. That being said, I love James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan so if I was ever to try and watch this again, it would only be for them.
• Donnie Darko [31/03] – 3.5 ⭐ – This was so weird and made no sense but it was also really good. what the fuck.
• John Wick [31/03] – 4 ⭐ – Finally forced my family to watch JW, the joke’s on them though because they all liked it! 😆😜

• Outlander Season 1 – 1×01 – 1×13 – [03/03 – ??] –  Is it bad that I’m not loving this????
• The Red Pyramid – 205/519 pages in – Buddy read with Destiny – LOVING this so far!! 💕
