Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog! This year I’ve been getting to know other bloggers through a blogging series I’ve been hosting, so today I’m coming at you with my third instalment in the series! I’ve known Emma through the blogosphere for years so it’s been an honour to interview he for this series! Emma is one of my favourite bloggers, she’s honest, upbeat and a lot of fun to talk to, so I hope you all enjoy getting to know her too!

Here are some of Emma’s most recent blog posts if you’re curious to see what she writes about!

Emma! (Hence the whole β€œEmma Reads Too Much” thing.)

3.tellusalittlebitaboutyou_interview

So, hello. I am Emma. If you know me, it’s probably because you have seen me write a really mean review about your favorite book, or have otherwise had the misfortune of encountering me and my extremely sarcastic content somewhere on the internet.

I’ve been a reader since I…could read. (Join us next time for another episode of Emma Saying Obvious Stuff.) I love cookies, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and magical realism books with funny, real characters and appealing settings. I mostly blog about those things. And books I didn’t like. And some that I enjoyed, I swear!!

4.whatsafactaboutyouthatyourfollowersmightnotknow_interview

Shockingly, while I am obsessed with myself and also talking about myself, I do not talk about my personal life very much at all. So everything about me can be a fun fact my audience might not know?

I will give the fun fact I always gave in class introductions. (You know how some cursed teachers/professors would do that awful thing where they made everyone go around and say their name, major, where they’re from, and a fun fact? A nightmare.)

I always said the same thing, which was: Matthew McConaughey has looked at my bookstagram. (I said Instagram, but you all actually know what bookstagram is. Unlike random overtired students.)

5.whatdoyoublogaboutmost_interview

I post reviews, monthly wrap ups, and the occasional tag. If I post more than four times a month the ocean will probably freeze over, pigs will fly, etc. etc. It just ain’t happening.

6.whatdoyouthinkmakesyourblogstandout_interview

The fact that I am very bad at it? That’s unique.

Okay, just kidding. I’ve been told I have a β€œdistinct voice” that is β€œfunny” and β€œfun to read.” I am too insecure to say any of that without using quotes.

7.howdidyoufindyourgroovewithyourblog_interview

Not sure if taking unplanned, unannounced months-long hiatuses is much of an indication that I’ve found my groove.

But by cutting down the number of posts I pressure myself to do and letting blogging be something I do when I feel like it, I’ve managed to continue feeling like it’s fun! Yippee. (Not sarcastic. Although all instances of the word β€œyippee” sound kinda sarcastic.)

8.doyouhaveagoalforyourblog_interview

I just hit my major goal, which was 1,000 followers (yippee again). Now I think my goal is to get back into posting regularly? And also hit 7 billion followers and achieve world domination.

9.whathaveyoulearntfromhavingablog

I’ve learned that I actually enjoy having some sort of assigned structure to my posts? It’s why I struggle with posting on Instagram more than any other platform and why when I post on my blog it’s almost always a wrap-up, tag, or review. And why I’m the best at staying active on Goodreads. (Not the best in the world. Just the best when compared to…myself. On other platforms. So low bar.)

Ellyn is the best and so is this series!!!

Now I’m off in search of cookies.

(Thank you, Emma!)
