MY CURRENTLY READING SHELF: THE 15 BOOKS I WANT TO READ BY THE END OF 2019

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! I know I haven’t been around all that much lately but that’s because I’ve been in a dreadful and soul-crushing reading slump and honestly it’s been absolutely depressing and somehow it’s increased my anxiety which is ridiculous and tedious and annoying and I’m very tired because of it.

So, in order to try and convince my brain to actually pick up a book and not just continuously listen to Welcome To Night Vale, I’m writing a list (because I love lists!) of all the books I would like to read by the end of the year if I was suddenly hit by a miracle!

WHAT I’M CURRENTLY READING

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5)  Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)  Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)  Capturing the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #4)  Two Dark Reigns (Three Dark Crowns, #3)

I usually try to stick to only reading one physical book and listening to one audiobook but apparently, that method has gone out the window!

So, I’m currently buddy reading Breaking Dawn with Rebecca, and then I think we might be reading Life and Death which if i’m honest I am NOT at all excited about, I am very ready for this series to be over.

I am also 2 chapters into City of Lost Souls and have been for WEEKS. I already hate this book and desperately do not want to read it. It’s pushed my read-along of Cassie Clare’s books back by over a month, I hate it so much!

I am also a few chapters into Capturing The Devil and Two Dark Reigns and I am excited for both of these so I really couldn’t tell you why I haven’t been picking them up!

And lastly, what you’ve all been waiting for… an update of my slowgoing Harry Potter re-read. And, yes I am reading this intentionally slowly. I am on page 62 of 333 (roughly 19% in) and I am really enjoying it, but I have noticed that by actually taking my time and not flying through the audiobook in a few hours, I am really noticing just how horrible the Dursleys are to Harry.

WHAT I WANT TO READ BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR

The Great Glowing Coils of the Universe (Welcome to Night Vale Episodes, #2)  The Buying of Lot 37 (Welcome to Night Vale Episodes, #3)  Who's a Good Boy? (Welcome to Night Vale Episodes, #4)  Michigan vs. the Boys  Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined (Twilight, #1.75)

Scythe (Arc of a Scythe, #1)   Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe, #2)   The Toll (Arc of a Scythe, #3)  Mooncakes   The Ten Thousand Doors of January

Now, here are all of the books on my tbr for the rest of the year! If I’m lucky I’ll be able to at least read half of these!

So, I lied and technically I’ve already started reading The Great Glowing Coils of the Universe because I’m a lying liar who lies, and I’m roughly halfway through as I’m writing this, so hopefully I’ll be finished with this soon and then if all goes to plan I@ll just continue listening to the episodes until I run out and then maybe I’ll read an actual book with my actual eyes? Or maybe I won’t. Yeah, I probably won’t.

I also have the Scythe trilogy on my tbr because I’ve heard great things and I’m hoping to do a full trilogy review before the end of the year!

  1. Good luck with the rest of your reading for the year. I keep looking at all the books I had wanted to read and highly doubt I’ll have time to read most of them before the end of the year now. I’m sorry for your reading slump though, the end of this year has been hard!

    1. Thank you, Avery!
I doubt I’ll get to most of these books but I think it’s the thought that counts, I just need to find the motivation now!

Good luck with your reading! ❀

  2. This looks like a great TBR! I really need to get to the Scythe series as well, since everyone seems to love them. And I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about The Ten Thousand Doors of January! Good luck with getting to all of these! 😊
