Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! This year I have been trying to make a conscious effort on my blog to let you guys get to know me better, and I’ve recently been trying this out on Instagram too (@allonsythornraxx). So, within that vein, I was recently binge-watching some old Sarah’s Day videos and I was feeling so inspired by how open and honest she is with her subscribers and I got inspired! So, I thought I would try and do something different to let you guys no more about my life behind the scenes and I’m taking you through what I eat in a day!
I didn’t have school last week on Monday (29/04/19) so I decided to do this on that day! Usually, I do have school but I decided to take a study day and take a bit of a mental break. So, in this post, as well as taking you through my food I’ll also show you what I do during the day!
breakfastΒ 8:34am
Okay, so breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day but it’s my favourite! On days where I have school or work, I usually just down some Weet-bix and leave but, because I’m at home today (thank god, honestly) I can spend a bit more time (like, 5 minutes lol) in the kitchen and think more about what I’m putting into my body.
At the time I was creating this post, it was the day after my birthday and one of the things I got from my mum was a Nutribullet which is like my dream thing to own. I wanted to try it out and have a smoothie since I haven’t made one probably all year. So, while I was at the shops yesterday I got some more frozen fruits (mango & pineapple) and I used them in my smoothie today. I’ve never used a Nutribullet before but turns out I was right and I love it. I decided to make a mango, pineapple and blueberry smoothie and damn that was a good idea.
I added ice, cold water, a whole banana, a heaped tablespoon of frozen blueberries, a couple chunks of frozen pineapple (I literally cannot stand acids so I only added a tiny bit for the flavour), two handfuls of frozen mango and a tablespoon of yoghurt & chia seeds (I used white because that’s what I had in the house). I then blended it up but it was a bit too think so I added some more water blended it again, and then chucked some more chia seeds on top and bam, boom, pow we did done it! It was yum and I’ll definitely be making it again!

Chillin’ with the dog and writing some blog outlines – about to switch over to doing assignment prep.
morning tea 10:34am
Β Β
- ice & water, tablets, vitamins
- carrot sticks
So, I don’t always do morning tea because I usually forget and get pretty busy around 10:30ish if I’m on my laptop. But, I wanted to try and show you guys what I do on a full eating day and this is what I do!
So, I cut up a big carrot for carrot sticks! I also took my vitamins – I use the Voost brand which I usually get at Chemist Warehouse (link) because they never do me dirty and honestly, I love watching them dissolve into my water. I put my Iron in a smaller cup and took that with my tablets & my echinacea (link) which is actually the devil’s vitamin but ya girl’s sick af so… And when I say I’m sick I mean that we’re on week 3 and this cold ain’t slowing down.
I also put two vitamin c shots into a big cup with ice because I like to have something to sip on while I snack at my laptop. And that’s it, that’s everything I’ll have until probably around 12:30/1pm!
lunch 12:38 pm
Β Β
- caesar salad (no bacon), with extra kale & spinach
I don’t have a salad every day but when I do, I go HARD, I also don’t feel so bad about having a massive salad because I don’t eat meat which means I don’t have a big protein and I didn’t finish my carrot sticks. So, I’m finishing off my Vitamin drink (because I am seriously a slow drinker) and munching on my salad while I work on my assignment (that’s due tonight lol rip me).
Usually, I would love to take my dog for a walk around this time depending on how I’m feeling and ironically today is also a pretty good day weather-wise, but because I have so much work to do, I can’t really leave my desk. Are you guys getting a sense for how much time I spend behind a screen? I haven’t moved away from my desk or the kitchen since 7:30am this morning.
dinner 5:40pm
For dinner, I ended up just having leftover fried rice from the night before and I chucked some cauliflower in it and it was amazing. πππ
WHAT I LEARNED
- Having meals already planned out and easy to make, makes it easier for me to get work done throughout the day. It took the pressure off trying to think outside the box and having them pre-determined also made getting ingredients out really simple.
- I love the Nutri bullet, but next time I thinkΒ I would make a smaller smoothie next time because it took me like 2 hours to drink it.
- I need to drink more water
This was such an interesting look at a typical non-school day for you! And I loved how it was centered around food! I love making smoothies as well! I made one practically every day last summer! But during the school year I don’t have a good blender, so I’ve sadly gone without for a while. I definitely need to fix that before the summer starts!

I love making smoothies, I made one this morning with berries this time, and it tasted so good! I can totally relate to that, I used to have to revert to buying them on the way to school but it was so expensive, it’s so much easier and more fulfilling to make them at home!

I’m glad, I’ll try to do another one later in the year!
I’ll definitely have to share recipes since I love cooking so much! Shall I do some baking in my next one?
Haha, I used to have an app but it stressed me out and I found I was hitting my stomach more than helping myself by trying to drink the “recommended” daily amount!
