Hey guys, welcome back to my bog! Today I’m coming at you with a new how-to blog post where I give you some quick tips and tricks on how to read more!
1 READ ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Now, I know this isn’t for everyone. You’ve got car sickness, lack of public transport and a whole other list of reasons this isn’t a possible or reliable option for everyone. BUT, if this is an option for you, you should give it a go. Not only is it cheaper than driving a car but, it gives you some extra time. Also, I find that because I take the same buses so often (to get to Uni) it actually relieves some of my stress which I know, driving would not do. If anything, driving would increase my stress levels.
2 AUDIOBOOKS & OTHER FORMATS
Between school, work and blogging reading can get shoved to the wayside a lot so audiobooks can be a real gamechanger for me. I usually only have time to read to and from school and I am also a slow reader so listening to audiobooks pretty much guarantees that I actually get books read throughout the month!
But, I know that audiobooks aren’t for everyone so I recommend taking a break from however you usually read and trying out a new format because it could totally revolutionise how you read!
3 READ SOMETHING NEW
Read a different genreΒ OR try reading something you don’t have to think too hard about, maybe something with a movie or tv adaptation that you’ve already seen. I find that either getting something completely new and different or finding something familiar usually does the trick when I’m trying to read more in a month.
4 COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS
Comics and graphic novels are a fantastic way to read a lot in a short amount of time. I’ve never tested it but, I’m sure I could read 5-10 comics in a day if I really wanted to. So, if that’s the kind of quick progress you’re going for, reading a comic series in a day would be great for reading a whole lot in a short period of time!
5 TAKE A BREAK
Okay, this might sound crazy but taking a break, no matter how long actually does wonders for my reading. It gives me that push, when I finally pick up another book, to read a whole lot because I’m so excited to be flipping those pages again!
Graphic novels and comics are my go-to right now! They keep me in reading mode when I get super busy, that way I’m not in a slump once I have time to read. I’ve also slowly but surely been reading more on public transportation as I use it more often. Without these tricks there’s no way I’d read a fraction of what I’ve managed to read so far! Too bad I didn’t have these tips last year!

Yes, I also love graphic novels and comics for the same reason!
Public transport is a great way to find reading time because I find that if I’m not using that time to read or be productive, I just stare out the window for 2 hours! ππ

Audiobooks almost double the amount of reading I do each month haha! I always listen when I’m traveling to and from school and when I’m in the gym π And if I’m really enjoying the book I will also listen when I’m cooking haha

Yes, they do the same thing for me! Haha, I’ll do the same thing – you really know I’m liking a book if I’m listening to it while I’m cooking because usually, I prefer silence! π
