MY 2019 TO BE READ SHELF | 20 books, oh lord!

tbrfeature

Hey guys! It’s the new year and I’m back on my bookish grind here on the blog after a crazy blogmas and I’m back to my normal Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule! During Blogmas I talked about my top 13 most anticipated releases of the year and today I’m talking about the top 20 books I would really like to get to throughout the year!

These are all books I’ve been meaning to read for years and have recently become more interested in or in the case with the last 5 books on my list, these are books I’m super hyped for this year!

I don’t think I’ll add any more books to this list this year, but in case I do I have made a Goodreads Shelf. Do you guys do this too?

bookThe Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1)  The Silkworm (Cormoran Strike, #2)  Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike, #3)  Lethal White (Cormoran Strike, #4)  Misery

I really want 2019 to be the year I read bigger books, but more importantly, I would really like to re-read the first three books in the Cormoran Strike series and then finally read the fourth book! I really enjoyed the first three when I read them a few years ago and I really enjoyed them but I have since heard a bunch of criticisms on the series so I’m really interested to see how I’d feel about them now.

I also really want to read Misery or at least something else by Stephen King this year. I started this last year and was enjoying it and I actually intended to have a big King year but it just didn’t pan out! Hopefully, this year I’ll at least read one Stephen King book from my little stack!

bookBig Little Lies  Bridge of Clay  The Hazel Wood  The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, #1)  Check, Please!: #Hockey, Vol. 1

And now we really get into the books that have absolutely nothing to do with each other! This year I’d like to continue the trend I started last year and read a bunch more books out of my comfort zone so I’d really like to get to Big Little Lies & Bridge of Clay! I’d also like to finally get to some of my more anticipated releases from last year, I kind of forgot to read The Hazel Wood & Check, Please Vol 1 and I’ve heard pretty good reviews so I’m still excited!

Also, I’d really like to get to The Lord of The Rings series, I’d like to start with The Hobbit but I’m putting book 1 from the main series here to motivate myself to continue with the series!

bookMy Plain Jane (The Lady Janies, #2)  Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, #1)  Elantris (Elantris, #1)  Warbreaker (Warbreaker, #1)  The Colour of Magic (Discworld, #1)

Yes, there are actually more books that I haven’t read! It feels neverending at this point.

I NEED to get to My Plain Jane because I literally made a book tag for this and I never  ended up actually read the book which is honestly crazy! I do believe that I’ve read Artemis Fowl but I remember nothing about it so I’d like to read it again before the film comes out. I also have some higher fantasy reads, I’d like to read a bunch of Brandon Sanderson books and really dig into the Discworld series!

bookDaisy Jones and The Six  Again, but Better  The Lost Queen (The Lost Queen Trilogy #1)  Once & Future (Once & Future, #1)  In an Absent Dream (Wayward Children, #4)

This row of books is 2019 releases that I’m super pumped for! I read all of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books in 2018 and I have an arc of Daisy Jones & The Six so I’m definitely going to be reading this one sometime before March! Then there’s Again, But Better which doesn’t sound at all like something I would usually pick up but I’m trying to read out of my comfort zone so this would be perfect for that purpose!

The Lost Queen has technically already come out, but not in paperback and therefore, it’s a 2019 release for me since there’s no way I’m paying $45 for a book, no matter how up my alley it sounds. Then there’s also Once & Future which is similar to The Lost Queen but a totally different genre and age group, nevertheless I’m excited for it! Honestly, I’m so glad I’m getting two Merlin-related books in 2019, it’s going to make my year!

And, ending with a bang is In An Absent Dream – the fourth book in the Wayward Children series and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I’ve loved every book in this series so far and I’ve heard this is the new favourite in the series and I’m sure I’ll love it just as much as everyone else!

  1. I need to get back to My Plain Jane. I was reading it and then… I dropped a lot of books I liked last year due to a huge reading slump. Hopefully this year will be better. Hope you have a good reading year, too. πŸ˜„
