Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a fun new tag created by Ally, who also tagged me! She created this original tag as a twist on the Bad Reading Habits tag to give reading habits a more positive feeling since we so often talk about the negative aspects!
- Pingback to this post or me!
- List some of yourΒ goodΒ reading habits, the things you think you do well
- Nominate some of your blogging friends
I usually read well with a deadline, whether that is a library end of the month deadline or a blog post deadline. Something I have incorporated into my reading for 2019 is a few blog post deadlines per month, basically, I have a few posts towards the end of each month that require me to have read a particular book read in order to write the blog post. This encourages me to read books much more than a library deadline and I’m completely okay with that.
I always read on the bus! I travel to Uni at least 3 times a week and I have roughly 4 hours of travel time in each day, so optimistically with that travel tie I can get roughly 100-200 pages read during those Uni days and it is pretty much the only time I get any reading done!
I set a reasonable reading goal at the start of the year! I always try to set a goal for the year that I know I will be able to complete, I know Goodreads Challenges are great for helping you to push yourself to read more, but I try to use my challenge more as an indicator of how much I’ve been reading throughout the year and as an indicator of how confident I felt about the next year. For example, my goal for 2018 was 52 (1 book a week) and I think my goal for 2019 will either be 100 or 1 – I have a lot of reading plans for 2019 but I am also getting into my second year at Uni and I don’t know how much reading I will do. I am really hoping to go for a more optimistic goal of 100, but we’ll see!
Love this tag,great post!

Oooh thank you for the tag, I love this!! Your good habits are amazing. β€ I'm still trying to decide what my Goodreads reading goal will be, too. It was 150 this year and I'm almost to 300, so I considered making it 200 or 250, but then I found out about the new job, so I'm thinking I'll leave it at 150 or even lower it to 100. Part of me thinks I want to read LESS in 2019 and focus on reading way more "big" books.

I’m optimistically hoping I’ll be able to read 100 books in 2019. I read over that this year and in previous years so I’m really hoping my plans won’t crash and burn because of Uni!
I really want to concentrate on bigger books next year too, at least we can always change our goal for the year if we need to! Maybe go with 150?

Reading on the bus is such a great use of time and I don’t know what I would do otherwise? I’m constantly paranoid that if I fall asleep I’ll miss my stop tbh.
Haha, I hope you enjoy the tag! πππ

Thank you so much for doing the tag, Ellyn!!! Reading on the bus is such a good one, and definitely something I wish I was better at. And reading with a deadline too!!

I honestly don’t know what I would do if I wasn’t reading on the bus tbh, though I am sometimes tempted to take my DS and play Mario kart. Maybe I should do that in 2019, Mariokart and an audiobook for bus trips – it would certainly be interesting.
Reading with a deadline is sometimes the only way I can be motivated to read so they’re pretty necessary for me!
