Hey guys, welcome to day 21 of Blogmas! And today I am talking about the tv shows and movies I have on “My List” on Netflix. I have felt like talking more about screens on my blog but haven’t been able to fit it into my schedule and I’m honestly so happy to be talking about something other than books today, which I kind of feel bad about but, I’m a film major so what can you expect???

DOCTOR WHO
As I’m writing this I am up to The Waters of Mars and I am procrastinating finishing Tennant’s era because I have cried enough this season and I am not ready to shed more tears. That being said, I am watching season 11 as it comes out and that Rosa Parks episode was one of the best ones in years and I cried so hard so maybe this procrastination thing isn’t working so well.
Basically, there is at least one episode per season that bring you close to tears or that will have you flat–out weeping.
THE DARK KNIGHT
I had never seen this before and I still haven’t seen the first or third film in the trilogy. I had to watch this one for an assessment and it was amazing, though I could’ve done with only watching it just the once in the day and not having it on the continuous loop I did while writing my essay. There’s only so much angry Batman I can deal with before my brain starts to bleed a tiny little bit.
That being said, this is a truly great film with some of the best characterisation of The Joker & Batman that I’ve seen yet. I am interested to see what happens later in the trilogy but I will doubt it will be as good as they had originally planned.
EDIT: You guys should be happy to know that watching this movie a stupid amount of times paid off and I aced my essay.
BODYGUARD
I never knew about this series for some reason? It stars Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes and it’s amazing. Richard Madden’s voice is A+ and for once I didn’t have trouble with understanding a character’s voice when they spoke, also side note – I never skipped ahead while watching which is something I’m known for doing. This show was incredibly engaging and I definitely recommend it!
SHOWS I WANT TO CONTINUE WITH
LUCIFER
Lucifer is one of my absolute favourites but I still haven’t gotten to season 3. I love being able to binge this show but for once I was actuallly up to date so I decided to wait until the season was out on Netflix. I’m hoping to binge it around the New Year so hopefully, that will work out school-wise and I’ll love it as much as I have the previous seasons!
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a special show with (usually) wonderful humour and well-developed characters and relationships and for one reason (school) or another (school, again) I am still not caught up??? I think season 6 comes out in January but I’m still not caught up to season 5 so rip me I guess.
THE GOOD PLACE
The Good Place is honestly so so good and I love the characters and the humour but why would they release a show like that week to week??? Like Lucifer, I prefer to wait this one out and just binge-watch the entire thing at a later date.
DAREDEVIL
Oh, what’s that? Season 3 is already out? Well, I haven’t seen season 2 yet so….
I loved season 1 and especially love my lord and saviour Karen Page but just haven’t gotten around to continuing the show. Do you see how school is ruining my tv progress?
[it got cancelled! π«πππ]
JESSICA JONES
I love this show. Seriously, I have watched and re-watched the first season a ridiculous amount of times and still think it’s one of the best seasons of television out there (*cough thank you David Tennant cough*). But I still haven’t seen season 2 because… wait for it… school.
WHAT’S ON MY NETFLIX “TO WATCH” LIST?
PADDINGTON 2
Paddington was a masterpiece and I loved it so why have I still not watched its sure to be brilliant sequel? Who knows, but the answer is probably school.
I KILL GIANTS
I Kill Giants looks so interesting and is based on a comic that isn’t about superheroes which seems to be something of a rarity these days so I would really love to watch this hopefully soon!
OCEANS ELEVEN
This is a classic that apparently I have to watch so here it is (probably gathering dust on this list but whatever).
PAN
I love Peter Pan retellings/adaptations/reworkings so of course, I want to watch this! I really can’t believe I missed this in the cinemas!
BROADCHURCH
A show??? With David Tennant??? That I haven’t seen??? Blasphemy.
(also, Jodie Whittaker. we stan a queen)
I have Bodyguard on my to-watch list. My friend has been recommending me that show all the time!

Bodyguard is so so interesting and definitely worth at least watching the first episode because the opening act is amazing!

I’m still not sure how I feel about The Bodyguard and am unsure if I want to continue tbh.
I’ve been wanting to watch Doctor Who since the announcement that we have a female Doctor but do I need to have watched any of the past seasons??? Because there are so many I don’t want to ahah
The latest season of The Good Place is so bloody good, I will never not love it, I can’t believe I nearly didn’t watch it and it was my mum (of all people, who usually gets what shows to watch from me) who told me to watch it! I don’t know why I doubted Kristen Bell, honestly.
I don’t even wanna think about the Marvel shows that I am so behind on….

I completely understand that. When I wrote this post I was 3 episodes into the series and it’s been at least a month and I still haven’t watched any further and I don’t think I will. I know what happens and I know they’re in talks for a second season which doesn’t really make sense. I think it’s a cool political show with a strong first episode but, I don’t know how in love with it I am anymore.
You definitely don’t have to watch the past seasons. I think that’s the beauty of the new doctor, you can pretty much pick up with her season and you should be fine, there are definitely a few references here and there that you might not get but, otherwise you should be okay. I love the previous seasons (Tennant and Smith were amazing) but I can certainly see how daunting watching 10 seasons of a show to catch up is! I hope you enjoy the latest season with Jodie!
I think I need to rewatch seasons 1 & 2 first because they’re so much fun but I’m definitely looking forward to starting season 3 TGP is such a fantastic show! Do you think it will get a fourth season? or that it needs one?
Haha, I don’t even know if it’s worth watching the Marvel shows anymore, especially if there’s a chance they might not get picked up by another platform, I don’t know if they’re worth it because the stories won’t be finished!

Yeah i think that was probably the same amount I watched? The whole sleeping with someone you really shouldnβt be sleeping with or even like hate or stands for everything you hate is a trope that is an instant turn off for me. Like itβs really not that hard to not have sex with someone. π€·πΌββοΈ
Oh cool! I might have to check it out then!
I think it will and honestly do long as itβs still just as good Iβll keep watching it because itβs a show that always makes me happy.
Maybe not but they are really good! (At least Daredevil and Jessica Jones are, I havenβt been able to get into the others tbh)

I feel the same way, I kind of saw it coming but it was also a bit if a shock. I didn’t really understand why it was necessary, I guess a lot of people like the trope?
DD & JJ are so good and I know JJ hasn’t been cancelled yet but I hope they get picked up by Hulu or something!

Doctor Who is so good. β€ Ugh, Tennant, I miss him. I love the new Doctor… but I'll always miss Tennant.
The Dark Knight is so freaking good, and honestly stands perfectly well enough on its own if you never decide to watch Batman Begins or TDK Rises (though they're good, too!). And I keep forgetting that I really want to check out Lucifer!

Doctor WHo IS so good, I’m still halfway through The End of Time Part 1 because I’m in denial. I know I love Matt Smith’s era but I don’t want to have to watch 10 “die” because I know I’ll be crying about it for days.
I know I want to watch the full Batman trilogy at some point but I think I’ okay with leaving at The Dark Knight for the moment. I’m a bit Batmaned out atm because I just wrote 2 assignments on him lol.
Lucifer is amazing and definitely worth the watch! It’s a lot of fun and very interesting! The characters and the plot are really cool, it’s one of my favourites!

Ugh, right π I didnβt touch the show for a little while after Tennant because I couldnβt face it!
Understandable, I can see how that would burn you out! π
