Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a new Hogwarts house recommendations post and today I’m recommending books for Gryffindor house! Enjoy!
HUFFLEPUFF + RAVENCLAW BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

Gryffindor is the house which most values the virtues of courage, bravery and determination.
STEELHEART
The mc in this trilogy, David, is the ultimate Gryffindor. His most defining trait (in my opinion) is how he always acts before he thinks. In fact, this series is called The Reckoners trilogy and I would say the Reckoners group s comparable to Dumbledore’s Army if you want to continue the link to HP.
If you want a superhero book about a Gryffindor trying to live his life and also get the girl (who is maybe a tiny bit shady and definitely a Slytherin) then this is the book for you.
PERCY JACKSON SERIES
There seems to be a trend with Gryffindors, in that they act/speak before they think. Percy Jackson definitely fits that mould. Apart from that, Percy is absolutely loyal to his family and friends but, always seems to put his foot in it with everyone else. He’s a fantastic fighter and brilliant with his family, but he has a short attention span and sometimes he gets frustrated and starts fighting his Math teacher who is secretly a Fury… it’s good, please read it!
THE NAME OF THE WIND
Honestly, Kvothe and Percy Jackson are the ultimate Gryffindors. They are both super smart in their respective fields/interests but, they never seem to fully think their actions through before they act. Kvothe, in particular, is really intelligent and could certainly be a Ravenclaw, but honestly, I think he is too brash for that house.
THE PRINCESS BRIDE
I love this movie, but I haven’t read the book so all I can go off is the story that I know, and from that, I think Wesley is definitely a Gryffindor (although, lbr he could totally be a Ravenclaw). He definitely thinks about his actions more than most of the other characters in the books on this list, but he also then has his real Gryffindor smart-ass fighting moments. And, also I love him so… if you don’t know this story please watch/read it!
THE GIVER
I love this book and it will forever be one of my favourites. The main character, Jonas, is definitely courageous, which is a very big part of being a Gryffindor. I also think that at the end of the novel especially, Jonas just becomes really brave and determined and basically becomes a full-fledged Gryffindor.
Omg such a fun post! Did you also did one for Hufflepuffs? Because I would love some recomendations haha

Percy is such a Gryffindor! And I definitely think the Giver falls into this house, too!
