Hey Guys! Today is a day… If you’ve been following my blog lately then you know I’ve been struggling a bit with life and school and family in general but that I’m trying to push through (you can read more here). So, because life is sucky right now, I thought I would try and get my mood up by talking about one of my favourite topics – Harry Potter, or more specifically why I would kill for some early Hogwarts era prequels (not Fantastic Beasts).
First of all, let me introduce you to my absolute favourite YouTube video of all time. You can find it here and I urge you to watch it before you finish reading this blog post. Anyway, now that you’ve me the SuperCarlinBrothers and your life has been completed (you’re welcome), you know all about one of my favourite theories of all time! ANd now I can finally start this post!
I know that we all want to read about The Marauders (which I have talked about here & here) but let’s go back a little (a lot) further and think about how amazing it would be to read about The founders of Hogwarts and how Hogwarts was built. Following the video, if you watched it, wouldn’t it also be fantastic to also learn about the origin or objects like The Pensive, The Veil and The Mirror???
If it’s true that The Ministry was built around The Veil isn’t that kind of amazing?? Wouldn’t it be amazing to learn about the origins of these objects or even just Hogwarts in itself? Even if you don’t care about the theory, I still think learning about how Hogwarts came about and getting to know the Sorting Hat and the founders would be really cool! And, it would also give us some really cool insight into how Hogwarts and the houses have evolved from the very beginning to the Harry Potter Hogwarts years!

YEESSS! I would absolutely love to see J K Rowling build up the past tales of the wizarding world. I have no interest in the newer generation -I want to know all about the figures that came before the golden trio. Cool post! ❤️😊

I think it would be so interesting to see the past of the wizarding world and to see how it has evolved. I agree I think it would be much more interesting than the newer generations.

I would camp outside the bookstore if JKR ever decided to write a HP prequel, especially if it’s about the marauders or hogwarts founder. I’m more interested in how they got together initially and how the founders react to Slytherin’s Chamber of Secrets! 😀

I know! I would love to read a prequel set in the HP universe (but not Fantastic Beasts). Haha, yes, I’d love to know how they reacted to the Chamber!

I would love an early prequel like this, and also one about the Marauders. I appreciate that they’re trying to tell Gindewald’s story with the Fantastic Beasts, but it’s not on my priority list.

I feel the same way about the Fantastic Beasts, I love Newt but I don’t really care about Grindelwald tbh. I would much rather know how The Marauders joined the Order or how Hogwarts was founded!

I think one about the founders would be absolutely amazing, like you have 4 cool characters ready and waiting to be written about, plus while we know some things about them there is still so much scope for exploration! 😊😊

This is why I’ve always wanted to read Hogwarts: A History! I’d love to be able to read all about Hogwarts and how it started. I know that would be a huge task for Rowling but it would be amazing to complete the Hogwarts Library collection!

I think they recently just made an illustrated edition of the novel as well as an audio version if you’re interested! It would definitely be a huge task but I think we would all love it!
