1 WHAT BOOK ARE YOU ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT EVEN THOUGH YOU READ IT A LONG TIME AGO?

The Rig (The Rig, #1)

THE RIG BY JOE DUCIE

I read The Rig way back in like 2013??? and I’m still thinking about it??? I have no idea why to be honest but I just love this book. It’s really interesting and I found it to be a really fun and creative novel. I have honestly never heard anyone (ever) talk about this book but I really loved it when I read it. I am hoping to re-read it again in the next couple of years and see if I would still enjoy it 5  years later.

2 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?

Oh, oh my gosh. Thank you for asking but I have no idea. Maybe tomatoes? Or apples? All the foods that make me want to throw up apparently? Uhh, of the foods that are safe foe me to eat, probably strawberries? I don’t really eat much throughout the day but something that I like to snack on throughout the day is a bowl with some frozen strawberries (good for headaches) and some chia seeds (a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, fibre, antioxidants, iron, and calcium). I have a lot of stomach issues (mostly relating to my anxiety issues) so this sort of calms me down and it’s a simple way for me to try and help my stomach out and to make sure I’m actually taking care of myself because I’m actively thinking about what I’m putting into my body.

3 IF YOU COULD SAVE THREE BOOK CHARACTERS TO PASS ON FOR FUTURE HUMANITY, WHICH WOULD THEY BE & WHY?

If I could only save three books? But Malanieeeeee that’s too much pressure!! Honestly though, we all have such different tastes and we don’t all speak the one language? Can we guarantee that it will automatically get translated? What if I pick the first book in a series? Do they get the rest of the books with that first book? I really want to say Stalking Jack The Ripper because do you even know me, but honestly, it is not accurate in the least and I kind of would want it to be accurate if I was going to save a book based on a real person and real murders.

Soo.. I’ll take the big leap and say…

  1. Peter Pan by J M Barrie
  2. Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone by J K Rowling
  3. Persuasion by Jane Austen

I feel so bad for not including any of my faves but I feel like these are a given. And this may be a stretch but I’m assuming that people are saving their phones too (so like their Audible and Kindle accounts would survive, righttt???). And I’m also going to go ahead and assume that people will write books in the future, so hopefully, these books are somewhat inspiring to the future humans.

  1. Thanks for the tag Ellyn! Love your answers, especially the books you’d save, for me it would be HP too, The Hobbit and Alice in Wonderland 🙂 If I think too much on the subject I’ll have to add 20 more books haha 😀

I have eating problems too caused by severe anxiety, so I sort of get you, I sometimes really envy people who can eat whatever they want 😦

    1. No problem! ❤️ Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed! I think we just have to save HP, it’s made such a big impact on so many people, readers or otherwise, and it’s good for all ages! Ahh, I somehow haven’t read The Hobbit yet but I am excited to get to it. I also think Alice would be a fantastic choice!

I had no idea this was such a universal problem, I had only recently figured out that my eating problems were anxiety related. I feel the same way, there are so many things I can no longer eat and if I ever go out with friends or family I have to be so cautious and I take years to order but they just order whatever they want! It’s crazy to me tbh! ❤️❤️

      1. I know, HP is the treasure for all generations, it must be saved! 🙂 Well when you get to read The Hobbit, I hope you like it! It’s an adventurous cozy book I adore. 🙂

Well I don’t have the same problem as you (stomach issues), but there are literally thousands of thing that can happen because of stress, so many people panic not knowing what is happening to them. It’s not a taboo subject, but I noticed people avoid talking about it, which is wrong, because that way there’s less information/help for people going through anxiety the first time. I’m glad you freely spoke about it and if you ever need anyone to talk about it let me know! 🙂 There are really thousands of symptoms and no two individuals are the same, but we all have the same root of the problem, and it sometimes helps sharing stories. 🙂 I’m going to therapy and I’m on a special feeding regime and it’s going well so far, hope you’ll get better too, you just mustn’t give up! ❤

        1. Wow, I completely agree – no one is the sme, but of course the root of the problem is always the same. I hope your therapy session went/goes well. Good luck! Have a good day! 😍

    1. No problem, I had to you’re ma fave Rebecca!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think HP was such an obvious choice for me, I mean anyone can read it and it has had such an impact on so many readers so why should I deprive the future people of this genius? Haha, I was thinking the same way – we’ll be old together *whispers* get off my lawn sonny.
I’m just sad my list wasn’t really very diverse.

  2. Thanks so much for the tag! Saving the first Harry Potter book is such a good call because as someone from generation HP it is actually a big part of my/our identity so it’s almost like passing on more than just a book i that makes sense?! 😂😂 I would definitely save The Book Thief! 🙂

    1. No problem! I completely agree it’s made such a big impact on so many of us so I had to include it!
I somehow haven’t’ read The Book Thief yet, but I will definitely get to it eventually, it sounds fantastic. Great addition!

  3. OMG ELLYNNNNNN I LOVE YOU SM you’re my favorite ldskjflksjdslk
The Rig seems so good, I love the trope of “master criminal able to escape from things” slkdjfkls I must read this!!!
oh my god it’s so relatable when you mention anxiety making it difficult to eat, on my v horrible days i cannot stomach anything (except gallons of green tea) and everyone says I should eat to feel better, and I’m just >.> “that’s v sweet but i’m trying to read my book goodbye”

    1. AHH MELANIE YOU’RE ALWAYS BEING SO NICE TO ME AND MAKING ME BLUSH! ❤️❤️
I absolutely love The Rig, it’s a really cool book and yeah, he is a pretty great criminal tbh.

Haha, I had no idea it was such a universal issue until I read the comments on this post this morning??? Like, I knew my issues were anxiety related (when aren’t they tho) but I’d never really thought about it before and it honestly makes so much sense. I totally understand, on a bad day I will eat like a piece of toast and that’s it, maybe some celery??? Haha, I knowww, I can’t eat don’t you seeee?? I usually try to distract myself with a book or my blog on those bad days.

  4. 😮 Genius teen and a prison break—The Rig sounds so cool!
Ooo strawberries and frozen fruits sound good right now. At least there’s a silver lining to your stomach issues 🙂.
Also, thank you for saving Peter Pan! I’ve never read the book, but I love the Disney movie and character 😁. Apparently the book is a lot darker than the movie though?

    1. It does, The Rig is a really cool book you should check it out!

Frozen fruit is honestly how I stay sane. I pretty much stare at a screen or a book for what feels like all day so the fruit really helps with the headaches! I’ve heard sucking on frozen grapes works best! Haha, yeah the fruit does make it at least a bit better plus who doesn’t love frozen strawberries?

I had to save Peter Pan, he’s one of my favourites (even though he’s psychotic) so I couldn’t leave him out! Oh, yeah the book is definitely a lot darker while still remaining a children’s book?? Don’t expect the disneyfied version going into the book!

  5. Aahh thank you so much for nominating me! (And calling me by my TRUE name.) And omg I love strawberries as well! No one appreciates how good frozen (or dried) fruit is. Especially mangoes. 😉 And agh saving only three books is so hard, I have a lot of favorite books but I don’t think I can even choose one of them for that question (except for maybe Six of Crows). Great post!!

    1. Haha, you are the TRUE Mango Queen! I know, I feel like no one wants to eat frozen fruit and I’m just sitting in a sad little frozen fruit corner by myself.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed!
