Hey guys, today I’m coming at you with a recommendations post! *gasps* What! We thought you’d been taken over by a different Ellyn who only wrote discussions and was a generally cooler blogger!Β
Welp, sorry to disappoint guys, but today I’m giving you a short and sweet mystery recs post. Hope you enjoy!Β πΒ π

I have read all of these on audiobook (and most of them also in text format) so in my opinion, I think they can be read either way.Β
TRULY DEVIOUS
Truly Devious came out earlier this year so if you’re looking for a new release mystery this is a great book for you. I read this earlier on this year and without spoiling anything, the ending leaves something to be desired. It’s a good book but I think this trilogy, at least for me, is one that should be binge-read. That being said, it’s still a cool mystery with modern day main characters.
STALKING JACK THE RIPPER & HUNTING PRINCE DRACULA
Would it really be a mystery recommendations post if I wasn’t recommending this series to you guys? The first book, Stalking Jack The Ripper is more of a goreyΒ get to know the characters you’ve probably seen this before. Because at this point, there are a hell of a lot of JTR stories (not that I’m complaining). But, book two, Hunting Prince Dracula is more of a dark and disturbing mystery. It can get pretty disturbing and descriptive and at this point, I’m pretty sure I live for this series.
EVERY HEART A DOORWAY
This isn’t fantastic by any means but if you’re looking for a short and sweet mystery with some fantastical elements this is the book for you. This series is pretty short, and this is the only real mystery in the seriesΒ but it is still interesting and a fair bit dark.
THE DIVINERS
This is definitely a much darker fantastical mystery. This is a quartet and each book is quite lengthy but as far as I can tell so far (I’m part way through book 2) it’s worth the time you put into reading it. The main character is… a lot but, the mysteries in each book are still really interesting!
I’ve never read any of these books, but I do love a good mystery! I think my favorite mystery novel is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I’ve reread it more times than I can count but I never get tired of it! Thanks for the recommendations π

If you’re looking for a good mystery I definitely recommend the Stalking Jack The Ripper series, but if you’re looking for something a bit more character &/or supernatural based you might like The Diviners series!
I read And Then There Were None last year and really enjoyed it, it was such an interesting mystery. I’m hoping to read more of her works this year!

Iβm in the middle of Truly Devious right now and loving it!
You should check out Ballad of a Mad Girl. Itβs #LoveOzYA and itβs got a kinda-maybe-paranormal twist which I loved.
