Hey guys, today I’m coming at you with all the book I want to read this Autumn (March-May). I am not a seasonal reader though, so don’t expect Autumnal reads in this post!
I am not currently in school at the moment so I think I might try adding some longer books to this list, we’ll see how we go!

1. Misery – Stephen King
This will be the year I finally read King I refuse to fail in this. I have considered taking part in Aprilius Maximus’ Stephen King project and while I don’t think I will completely start from the beginning with his books I do think I might try to start from the beginning after I read a few of his suspense novels. I know basically nothing about this book other than that my mum said I would like it, especially if I want to get into King and what mum says goes and I’m hoping to get to it soon!

2. Jane Eyre – Charlotte Brontë
Okay so I am currently reading this but I wanted to add Jane Eyre to the list anyway just to keep myself accountable! Emma @ Emmareadstoomuch was talking about how much she loves Jane Eyre last month and she really inspired me to pick it up!
So far I’m really loving it and think this is definitely my favourite cover that I’ve found so far! I am also really hoping to get this read before My Plain Jane (My Lady Jane #2) comes out in June, I think, because it will be based around Jane Eyre and we all know how the Lady Janies twist stories and make us laugh. I can’t wait.
3. Children of the Knight – Michael J. Bowler
I started this a few months ago and was really loving it but as per usual I ended up putting it down and getting really distracted, but I have been really feeling watching Merlin, so I feel like this might be a good way to still hang out with the characters without having to watch any tv because ya girl’s got a bad track record.
This book seems 100% up my alley being really well-received on Goodreads and an LGBT King Arthur retelling. Hopefully, I’ll be able to smash this one out in a day or two and just completely fall in love with this one! If all goes to plan I should have a review of this one up for you guys in a few days! 🤞🤞🤞
4. The Wicked Cometh – Laura Carlin
Okay so I have only known about this book for a week and I am already so prepared to love this book. A few days ago I wrote a post called Am I Sick of YA? where Avery @ Redrocketpanda recommended this to me after I complained that I didn’t have any good mysteries to read.
The Wicked Cometh sounds fantastic, Avery described it as a f/f historical fiction murder mystery and from that description I was hooked. I pretty much immediately put this is on hold at the library and hope it will end up being the 2018 release I read in March!
5. The Princess Saves Herself in this One – Amanda Lovelace
Yep, you’re really seeing this. Poetry.
Who am I? Who have I become? Is this the real life or okay, I’ll stop now…
So, I’ve decided this year that I really want to make an effort to try and branch out with my reading, hence the title. I’ve never really been one for poetry and I’ve pretty much just been that person who heard one person say it was dumb and so I stayed away from the genre from day dot.
I’ve heard some stuff about the second book of poetry in this series and so, me being me I bought the first one because I MUST READ EVERYTHING IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER!

These all sounds perfect for Autumn. I really want to read The Wicked Cometh. I have heard fantastic things about it! I am exciting to see what you think about it!

They actually kind of do, it was totally by accident lol. I am really excited about it! I am hoping to write a review once I read it, hopefully in the next month or two.

Was so confused because it’s spring in the U.S. (at least, I wish the weather got the memo), and then remembered you live in Australia! 😂 I actually have read King’s short story collection Bazaar Of Bad Dreams and absolutely loved it, but I haven’t read a full-length novel of his. I’m definitely hoping to read Misery sometime this year!

I’m not a massive fan of short stories because some people are just terrible at writing them so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Bazaar of Bad Dreams. We should totally buddy read a King sometime this year!

I just got SO CONFUSED about the season. I thought you’d made a mistake at first or that some confusion had occurred. I feel like such a doofus that I never realized Australia has seasons at different times from us :’) Well, that’s my life lesson of the day!

my gosh JANE EYRE is my darling precious and i must reread that book because it’s been too long??????? and that cover is particularly lovely ❤ ❤ and I love poetry so much, but i need it in small samples or else i get overwhelmed bc it's so intense????
everyone has always told me poetry is pretty and relaxing but NO it's A LOT to take in imo

I am really loving Jane! I honestly thought I would never pick it up based off the size but I am so glad I took a chance on it! The only problem is that my mum asks me every 5 minutes whether I’ve finished it, haha!
I know what you mean, I read the collection a few days ago and oh boy! The collection as a whole was quite disappointing but oh boy, some of those poems by themselves really messed with me! Note to self: Always bring an emergenc box of tissues!

I’m only a seasonal reader when it comes ot autumn and winter tbh 😀 I definitely want to read Jane Eyre before I got to My Plain Jane, as I haven’t read it entirely. I did start the book at one point, but never got around to finishing it 😅

Yes, you totally should! I’m listening to the Audiobook and I honestly think that was the best way for me to read the book. I honestly don’t know if I would have made it through this much drama and angst without the audio tbh.

Oh I’m usually not one for audiobooks, but maybe I’ll try it for Jane Eyre, as I didn’t get it read physically! Thanks for the tip 🙂

I just read it the other day, unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype, though I do still hold out some hope for other poets! I know what you mean, I feel the same way when you guys all do your seasonal lists, I’m like… wtf is a Fall and where do I get one???

I had to which is why I took the chance on it and picked it up! I had pretty low but unbiased expectations going to this, being that I am not a poetry buff. Unfortunately, there was only roughly 10 poems that I actually enjoyed in the whole 200 (yes, I said 200) page collection. I feel like so much of the collection was just filler – some of the poems were like, 3 words – is that really poetry???
Funnily enough, the poems I disliked the most were the ones relating to the actual point of the collection – royalty. Whoops.

I read Jane Eyre in February and I loved it! It was soooo good! I hope you like it! I wanted to read it before My Plain Jane too so now I can finally get to it!

I am really enjoying Jane Eyre so far! I honestly don’t think I ever would have picked it up or made it a priority if I wasn’t going to read My Plain Jane!
