UPDATE: Okay, so don’t @ me because I know this is bad timing. J. K. Rowling is being a dick, but I still want to be able to think about the Harry Potter series positively, otherwise, my whole childhood will go up in flames.
Hey guys, today I’m coming at you with a bit or a more chill type of post. Today all I want to do is talk about some of my favourite Harry Potter characters. I have a top 3 but today just for shits and gigs I’m going to hurt my brain and fit the Potterverse characters into a list of 5 people.
NUMERO UNO, O GREAT ONE WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUR FRANCHISE?

Yeah, fight me. I love this guy – he made the first film for me.
He’s fantastically (haha, I crack myself up) kind and he really cares about his animals, something I can’t help but relate to. I feel like this video (I really recommend watching it) also really made me love him more, Newt Scamander is one of the few characters I can think of that doesn’t display the typical masculine crazy buff form that men usually take on, also, he has feelings and that makes him an immediate A++.
NUMERO DOS, O GREAT ONE ALL YOU WANTED WAS A DRAGON
^Before Newt Scamander, there was… Hagrid.
Until Newt Scamander’s franchise came around my fave was always Hagrid.
Hagrid, aside from Mrs Weasley, is basically the one who raises Harry. He’s always there for him and can you guess, HE ALSO LOVES ANIMALS I GUESS I HAVE A FAVES TYPE.

I mean give me a break. Every time he turns up in the books I just start smiling. All he does is talk about his love for Quidditch and I can’t help but admire his love for the sport. I mean, come on, you can’t just cancel Quidditch!

Of all the characters I relate most to Neville (just call me Nermione, because my other half is stuck in a book). I mean, he is most known for his awesome character development, He doesn’t like violence, he loves his friends but, he will fight you.

Luna Lovegood is honest and crazy goals. I mean this chick is just the forking loveliest. She’s completely genuine and just such a good friend. I mean, she has a freaking mural of her friends on her ceiling, who does that???
I think there’s a theme with all my faves. They’re all nice people and they’re all genuine. I just love it, you just know who they are without even getting to know them all that well. That may sound shallow, but I don’t mean for it to sound that way (I would obviously love to be friends with all these people), I just really appreciate that they don’t have hidden motives or secrets – they’re just living their best lives and being nice people.

All good choices, obviously. 🙂 I’m not sure I have a favorite character…I do love Ron, though. I know a lot of people feel like he’s just a comic relief character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him.

Oh, don’t worry I still love Ron. Personally, he’s my favourite of the trio but for some reason, I think I prefer the side characters – maybe because we know less about them??
I don’t think of Ron as the comic relief, in the books he is an amazing and complex character, whereas in the movies he is purely the dumb comic relief.

Oh man I LOVE NEWT. MY HEART 😍😍😍😍 Also Hagrid is basically the best all that unconditional love he has for just everyone. I also really love Mrs. Weasley and would put her on my Top 5 list, I think. And interestingly enough I would put Harry. I feel like this is slightly an unpopular opinion, as I don’t hear many people say their favorite HP character is Harry, but I think he’s such a cutie!

Yes, Newt & Hagrid 😍😍 Yes, I came so close to including Ms Weasley, I’m pretty sure if I had have done a top 7 or 8 I would have included her, Ron and Ginny. Mrs Weasley is like mum goals, but I am not that big a fan of how she treats the twins and Ron on occasion.
I think it’s great that you would put Harry on your list, to be honest, I think he’s not a big fave purely because I feel like that’s a given but, I still really love him. If I did a top 10 he would probably be on it.

I think my top three favourites have got to be Ginny because she’s badass, Hermione because without her Harry and Ron probably would have died. And Neville because I just want to hug him, he’s just a bubba.

I know how you feel, if I had done an extended list, Ginny definitely would’ve been on it! Book Ginny is the ultimate badass!
I do love Hermione but for some reason, she’s not a fave, I honestly don’t know why. Neville is amazing! 😍

Okay, I almost laser-eyed my computer but, it’s fine. No. 3 is Oliver Wood – he’s the Gryffindor Quidditch captain until Hary takes over later in the series! Don’t feel silly, it’s completely okay!

My favourites are on your list, though maybe in a different order haha! I also love all the sweet characters who mean nothing but good. One favourite of mine that isn’t on your list is Lupin, oh boy Lupin… He is so sweet and really cares for Harry!

Yes, Neville deserves more love tbh, he is so underrated! ❤️Exactly, he’s a fave for a reason, he is just so genuine and warm-hearted and there aren’t that many characters like that in the series.

Ahhh definitely agree with these! I always miss Oliver when I reread the later books 😛 I can’t for the life of me choose a favourite HP character – I love so many and so much haha. Harry himself will always have a special place in my heart though, since I’ve always related to him a lot 🙂

Yes, I always miss him, Oliver was some of the only comic relief in the series and it feels a lot heavier without him at Quidditch practice! I know how you feel, I am so often torn between Newt & Hagrid! Yeah, I agree, I never include Harry in my faves list because I feel like it’s a given, everyone loves Harry and he’s the ultimate character. I grew up with him and I relate to him on a different level to the other characters.
