No, usually my mother and I spend that extra time to convince my brothers they need to go to sleep, because of Santa and all that jazz.

Here, I would usually say Blogmas but I skipped it this year out of stress.

Fake, we don’t really do the real tree thing in Australia, they’re weird.

The Holiday, no question (or competition).

Giving. I do it all year long anyway but now I have an excuse.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT CHRISTMAS?
Umm, giving, I guess? I don’t really celebrate it, I just like buying people stuff.
WHEN DO YOU START GETTING EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS?
Don’t judge me but… January 1st. I pretty much start planning Christmas a few days later – this is a year-long endeavour for me, the same with birthdays.
WHAT IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?
I really don’t know. This year I mostly bought all my own presents, this way I would get stuff I could actually use/ read. Is that bad? I have no idea.
WHAT IS THE WORST PRESENT YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?
I know that when I was a lot younger (5-8??) I was given a Bratz doll and that was just not my jam. There was a tantrum and can you blame me? Their heads are abnormally large. (Yes, I am aware of how privileged I sound but damn it guys I was like, 5).
AS A KID, DID A SIBLING EVER RECEIVE A PRESENT YOU WISHED WAS FOR YOU?
I mean, probably? Unless I go shopping with my mum I rarely get something I would actually like, we just have very different tastes in just about everything.
WHAT WOULD BE OUR DREAM PLACE TO VISIT FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON?
I really have no idea. Maybe NYC or London, they are really the only places I would consider travelling to in general.
MOST MEMORABLE HOLIDAY MOMENT?
So clearly I am not the most Christmassy person… my most memorable moment would have to be the one time I got to sleep in past 5am on Christmas Day.

Umm… honestly? I hate the holidays. I don’t get along with most of my family and it’s really hot in Australia so it’s basically a disaster.

No, honestly, the best part is probably making the food.

I totally get the eh feeling about holidays. My family is a mess, I’m adopted and have a lot of awful memories related to the holidays. Christmas is never my thing.
My favorite holidays are St. Patricks Day & American Independence Day. It’s weird that I get more excited to celebrate my country & Irish heritage than family? But I’ve also read adopted kids can be more attached to their country than foster families, so it does make some sense.
I’d love to travel to London for the holidays! That would be magical.

Yep, any holiday and I’m like, eh pls no. I feel you, my family is batshit and most of us don’t get along so Christmas or birthdays especially are just awkward. Yeah… mostly I just enjoy the small things like Comic Book day or any day I can just make something up or avoid people. Nah, it’s not weird, I don’t get hyped about Australia day personally, just because I don’t think it should be called that and I’m not all that proud of the country’s past. That’s actually really interesting and dude, you do you. You should always make yourself happy with whatever you’re comfortable with.
Yes, travelling in London would be 👌👌👌

It’s only Christmas eve here so no Christmas day yet but I’m feeling the eh, too. I had to work all week and today so I’m kind of not really feeling it either 😐

Somewhat haha I always try to sleep in but I couldn’t since my dad had to work. Overall, I didn’t have too bad of a day but it felt incredibly long.
How was your Christmas?

Mine was pretty meh, it was hot and my brother got sick (and then I got sick the next day lol) so it was mostly just fetching ice packs and figuring out what to feed a sick teen on Christmas. Otherwise, yeah it just felt long!

Sounds like my kind of luck haha. The day after Christmas, I was supposed to be off but had to go in for a few hours 😦
There aren’t really any major holidays coming up beside New Year’s Eve and day which I have to work too so we’ll see how they go haha. I have to admit, I do love Valentine’s Day. 😛

I’m feeling pretty meh too. Never really celebrated and it’s hard to feel excited when I just left somewhere where I could actually feel the holiday spirit (read: somewhere with snow ⛄⛄).

Yeah, I don’t really celebrate xmas I’m just there for the presents, which sound terrible but like, I’m not religious and consumerism is real.
