The Questions:
01 What made you start a book blog? Now that youβre a book blogger, is it different to what you thought it would be?
I really have no idea to tell you the truth. I’ve always wanted to BookTube but with my family situation and the lack of a second of quiet in my home, unless I was filming at 3am it just wouldn’t work. Though, I do really enjoy readathon vlogs so I’ll probably try and do some of those when I move out of home (which won’t be for a few more years unfortunately), but I don’t actually intend to full on dive into BookTube because I really don’t think that’s the platform for me.
But I have always wanted to talk about books because my friends don’t really read as much as I do, and we rarely read the same stuff so when I found out about book blogging I thought I’d give it a go. I tried to give it a go a few years a go in 2014 or 2015, I don’t remember which, but I was too swamped with school at the time so it didn’t work out. But then I tried again a year later when I was in a better mind set and I’m still here so I guess it’s going well.
Blogging is definitely different from what I thought it would be. I really didn’t think about it before I dived in and I really didn’t take into account ho much time it would take out of my day and how often I would be thinking about my blog. I definitely don’t regret it though!
02 Do you read eBooks and listen to audiobooks?
UM YES. If you’ve been following me for a while, even if I don’t mention it a lot, I am a massive advocate for audiobooks, I love them. Usually, the majority of books I read are on audiobook. I used to not care about them but the more I hear people basing them (and ebooks for that matter), the more I feel really bad about how the book community is becoming.
03 Are you participating in any other yearly reading challenges apart from the Goodreads challenge?
Unfortunately, no. I’m barely even doing the GR challenge – my goal was 1 book, which obviously I knew I would surpass easily. I’m in my last year of high school and so I really didn’t want throw myself into lots of reading challenges, and in general I don’t really enjoy them anyway.
04 Do you participate in readathons?
YES. I am a massive fan of readathons, I think they’re a really great way to bond with the rest of the reading community, and in general they’re just really fun.
05 Where do you purchase the majority of your books?
Usually online – places like Wordery & Bookdepositroy. But generally in store I buy at second hand stores.
I generally read from libraries so if I’m buying a book full price in store (something I rarely do) it’s only because I’ve read it before and I know I want to re-read it later on.
06 Do you unhual books?
YES. I’ve actually done a massive unhaul today. I’ve found at least 50 books on my bookshelves that I’m no longer interested in and will be getting rid of asap.
07 Do you have a book buying budget/rules for book buying?
Not really, I rarely buy books full price with my own money. Usually all the books you guys see in my hauls were bought by other people or were gifts.
I definitely love buying books, but I rarely actually buy any (unless they were second hand) so I don’t really need a budget. I guess the only real rule I have is to only buy a book full price in store if I think I’m going to re-read it.
08 How long, on average, does it take for you to finish one book?
That is a fantastic question, one that I can’t really answer. If I really like a book it could take 1-2 days, but it could also take me 2 months, so who the hell knows. It’s the same with books I didn’t like, I could hate read a book in a few hours, or it could take me a few weeks.
That being said I usually read 1-2 books each week, so you decide.
09 Do you underline and mark-up your books?
No I don’t but I would like to start. I am constantly conflicted about this but in the end they’re my books and it would probably help me write better reviews for you guys. This is actually something that I used to be 2000 percent against, but I slowly coming around to it. I will probably start highlighting in my books since I already do that with my ebooks. The only problem is that I am majorly a library reader, so for this to work I will have to actually buy some new books.
10 Do you create TBRβs? If you do, are you good at sticking with them?
I do, I really love having short hand goals, so this really helps me, as a person. I really prefer to have a set list of things to do throughout the week, yes that does mean that I plan what I’m going to read per week the month before I actually read them, it’s weird I know. So yes, in summary I do make tbrs, I don’t always stick to them because there are always so many new books to get distracted by, but in general I manage to read at least a few of them per month.
11 What are your favourite blog posts to write?
I really enjoy writing How Tos and Discussion posts, but I realise that I really haven;t written many of them as of yet. Though, I am hoping to fix that later in the year, and I have planned SO MANY discussion posts for next year, I never knew I Β had so many opinions lol.
I NOMINATE the last five people who commented on my blog, you guys are seriously awesome:

My Questions:
01 What was the last blog post you read?
02 Do you borrow from the library?
03 Do you own/ use a Kindle?
04 How do you feel about subscription boxes?
05 What tv show/s are you currently watching?
06 Your favourite beverage?
07 What are you/ do you want to study in University/ College?
08 Recommend a good middle-grade read!
09 What blog post did you last write/ what are you currently writing?
10 What is your favourite colour?
11 What are your feelings on cooking?
I LOVE your answers! Iβm the same, I rarely buy new books because itβs just waaaay too expensive, I always used to buy second hand. But now Iβm even trying to cut down on that too and utilise my local library because I would end up buying hundreds of books and justifying it because it was cheap! And I used to be 2000% against marking up books too! But now I think Iβm going to try underlining some of my favourite books, it really makes a book your own!

Thank you! I love buying new books but honestly, yeah, it’s way too expensive. I had the same problem, I always used to buy too many books at the used book store, but I am definitely trying to cut down on that.
I am definitely really getting into the idea of marking up my books, honestly, it just doesn’t seem like such a big deal anymore.

I don’t create tbrs since I’m a huge mood reader, but I really wish I could haha (I mean, I can, but I won’t stick with them so there would be no point lol) Loved reading your answers π
Thanks for the nomination!

I wish I was more of a mood reader to be honest, to some degree I am but I still do prefer to have a set tbr, as it gives me a goal. Thank you and no problem!

AhHH I have the same conflict with marking up books. I like the idea of it but I never know quite what to say and I don’t want to write in my books if I am then going to lend them to someone else, which I often do… I am slowly coming around though.

That’s kind of my dilema too! I mostly mark classics, but I am really hoping to get into writing in other books. My only issue is when I lend it to someone or if I give it to a second hand store, because then I feel bad about it.
