I’ve been seeing this tag around lately and even though I’ve already done my 2017 goals post I thought I might give this one a go.
01 An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before).
Shaun David Hutchinson. At the moment I’m Β really interested in two of his books – We Are The Ants &Β The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley
Β
02 A book you’d like to read.
So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson. I plan on picking this up this month so I won’t talk about it too much about it but it seems really interesting and like something I wouldn’t ordinarily pick up.
03 A classic you’d like to read.
I’d really like to read Moby Dick this year but it’s pretty massive so I don’t know if I’ll get around to reading it. Plus, I don’t really care for fishing!
04 A book you’d like to re-read.
This year I plan on rereading The Raven Cycle, I love this series and it’s characters so I can’t wait to experience the series again.
05 A book you’ve had for ages and want to read.
I’ve owned Winger for going on three years and still have not read it. I’m hoping IΒ will finally be able to read this at some point this year.
06 A big book you’d like to read.
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderon – I really want to start this series but I think I’m going to have to exercise some restraint. The Stormlight Archive is supposed to be a ten book series and there are only two books out at the moment. That, and Sanderson also has other projects that he’s working on so there’s no guarantee that a book in this series sill come out every year.
07 An author you’ve previously read and want to read more of.
Brandon Sanderson – whether or not I end up reading The Way of Kings I would really like to read some of his other works like Elantris and Warbreaker.
Β
08 A book you got for Christmas and would like to read.
Anne of Green Gables
This will technically be a reread because I read this when I was younger but I got a new copy so I want to read it again. I was slightly obsessed with this series a few years a go – I had read the first book way too many times and watched the movies too many times, I loved the story and thought Anne was an amazing role model. It’s been a while since the craze so I’m excited to see how much I remember and if I still love Gilbert as much as I used to.
09 A series you want to read (start and finish)
Magnus Chase and the Gods of AsgardΒ
I talked a lot about this series in December so I won’t explain why I want to read thisΒ but I am definitely very excited to read this trilogy this year.

10 A series you want to finish (that you’ve already started)
There really aren’t anyΒ series that I’m hell-bent on finishing but there are a few that I would like to finish over the next few years.
The Flash, Artemis Fowl & Lux. I started these series in 2015 and if I can at least read the next installment (pictures below) in their respective series’ then I’ll be happy.

11 Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2017?
I usually do set reading goals but this year I only set my Goodreads goal at 1 – more so just to keep track of what I’ve read. ThisΒ year I want to read bigger books and really take in what I read. I would like to read 50 books but who knows, if I don’t read quite that many I think I’ll be fine with it.
12 Any other reading goals?
This year I plan to just be more chill with my reading. I want to read what I want to read. I plan on reading bigger books – mainly Epic and High Fantasy.
What are you planning on reading this year? Are we going to be reading any of the same books?

Ugh, I read At the Edge of the Universe by Hutchinson and loved it to pieces. π Can’t wait to read his other works! And I have So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed as well; it sounds so interesting! And yes to the Magnus Chase trilogy; I’ve heard fantastic things about it, and it sucks I haven’t read it yet. π

I’m SOOO excited to dive into SDH’s works – I’ve heard only good things! I actually just finished So You’ve Been Publically Shamed, it was a really interesting read. I loved the topic of conversation and I can’t wait to read more book similar to it in the future. And yes, Magus Chase, again, like everything on the list I’ve only heard good things and yet it’s 2017, the last book is coming out and I have’t even picked up book 1! π
