What’s Up With Me? What a wonderful question, let me tell you.Β
For the last week or so I have been in a reading slump. I know, ew. At the begining od the month I binge-read the Steelheart trilogy by Brandon Sanderson and as with all Sanderson novels, it was amazing. And from then on I didn’t have the motivation to read, I wasn’t watching TV, I wasn’t reading, I wasn’t doing much of anything to be honest.
But then, all of a sudden a few days ago I has the sudden urge to finish my re readΒ of the Percy Jackson series and boy, did I run through those last three books. I read them in three days!
Other than randomly picking up PJO I have read 100 pages of A Darker Shade of Magic, which I am trudging through, I mean I love it but I am reading it a word a minute.
MUSIC
RoughlyΒ an hour before I started writing this post I got myself obsessed with Waitress the Musical. The soundtrack is amazing and I love it. So far, my favourite songs from the suondtrack are Door Number Three, When He Sees Me & She Used To Be Mine.
MOVIES
Β
The other day I saw Rogue One and I LOVED IT! Cassian Andor was definitely my favourite and I can’t wait to get the Funko Pop of him!
I would like to see Moana while it’s at the cinema, if I can. I’ve heard amazing things about this film and I can’t wait to see it!
TV SHOWS
Β
Β
Β
Pushing Daisies
I started watching this show for the first time a few weeks ago and although I have only watched three episodes I already love it!
ClassΒ
I have not yet started this show but I am incredibly excited! I love this show already and I barely know the names of the characters. Class is a Doctor Who spinoff but without too much Doctor Who stuf – thank god because lately Doctor Who has been pretty subpar.
Shadowhunters
Shadowhunters season 2 just started a few weeks ago and I am definitely enjoying it! I love this show and I have heard that the show is h=going to deviate a lot from the books a lot towards the second half of the season.
A Series of Unfortunate Events
I bingewatched this show on Netflix as soon as it came out. I loved it and honestly I can’t wait to review it! NPH was amazing as Count Olaf and I am already highly anticipating season 2.
REVIEWS
I plan on writing reviews for the Netflix show A Series of Unfortunate Events and Rogue One. I should be coming later this month or early February.
Other than that,Β the reviews I have already posted this month are:

CURRENTLY READING
Β
Β
A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic #1)
I am roughly 220 pages into this and while I am loving it, I am reading it a page per minute. I am hoping I can finish this by Sunday but at the rate I’m going I may not even finish it by the end of the month.
Ms Marvel Vol 2
I am half way through this volume and I really enjoyed it while I was reading this but honestly I don’t really have any motivation to finish this series.
The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus #2)
After I binge-read PJO last week I randomly decided to also re read The Heroes of Olympus because it’s been a while and hey, why not?
TO BE READ
These are the latest five books that I have added to my TBR shelf on Goodreads. Some of these books will be coming out later on in the year so I’ll be talking about them in my Autumn anticipated releases. Although, the others are already out and have been for a while.
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
I bought this earlier in the month and I’m pretty excited about this one. I really don’t like reading blurbs so like a lot of the books on my TBR I really couldn’t tell you what this one is about either.
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
The Breakfast Club with a criminal twist. Sign me the hell up!
This ounds amazing and I haven’t heard anything negative so I have high hopes!
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
A retelling of You’ve Got Mail. I am so ready for this book.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Do I even need to tell you why I want to read this? I love learning about the Greeks (even though I already know this story) so this is certainly up my alley!
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
I can’t say I actually know what this books is about, all I know is this is an important read and will make me bawl.
Yes, I want to read One of Us is Lying SO BAD. The Song of Achilles is amazing; I hope you love it! Ugh, I feel you; I was in a slump-y mood earlier, but I’ve gotten back into the swing of things! It takes time. π

I just started reading Our Own Private Universe so I’m hoping that will help me get out og my slump. I can’t wait to read The Song of Achilles, my friend bought it the other day and is loving it so I’m hoping I can borrow it off her in a month or two.

Ughhh I hate when I’m in a reading slump, but at the moment I have sooo many books I want to read! Did you end up finishing Shadowhunters season 2? I thought it was pretty good too, although I agree, it did NOT do a good job following the book plot line. I also didn’t like the way they portrayed the Iron Sisters; I thought it made them look kind of ridiculous, and lacked all the intensity and, I don’t really know how to explain it… (power?) that I thought they would posses. Looks, personalities, just everything wasn’t there.

I’m actually enjoying the series so far – I’m excited to see what Sebastian brings to the show (I’ve heard fantastic things about the actor). I actually don’t mind that the show doesn’t follow the books (as I hated them) but I do understand why hardcore fans are mad about that. I totally feel your pain with the Iron Sisters though, the show definitely could have used them better.

Wellll, prepare yourself for a story: You know, I THOUGHT I was a hardcore fan until last month…one person got almost half of the girls in my grade (actually) to read ALL of Cassandra Clare’s books. Everyone who reads them meets up in the library at school, and okay, typically my grade is a very very cliquey grade, and usually no one would read during free block. But I guess I was quite wrong lol! So like, reading the tmi and infernal devices is considered cool now. Nobody talks about what they’re watching on Netflix just the books; I guess it’s a pretty good thing though πππ
